As great as the Cowboys defense was in their shutout of Philadelphia on Sunday, the group feels like it can do even better. The four days seperating them from the playoffs are all about making those little adjustments to improve, if they can.
So one area Wade Phillips' unit would like to advance in is the coverage of Eagles tight end Brent Celek, who had seven catches for 96 yards against them. The Cowboys did the most important thing, by not allowing those deep passes down the field, but Celek still made some hay underneath.
Celek also had a touchdown against the Cowboys in the first game between the teams back in November, one of his eight on the year. He finished the regular season with 76 catches for 971 yards.
"He's made some big plays - he's made some big plays all year," Bobby Carpenter said. The fourth-year linebacker will often be called on to match up with Celek.
"We're going to do what we're going to do against him," Carpenter said. "We're going to be focused, study him up a little more. They had some new wrinkles for us last game, and they'll probably have some new wrinkles for us this week. But he's a very good player, but if we play the way we can we should be able to take away a lot of things that they do."
