A huge crowd showed up for Saturday’s afternoon practice – 13,708 to be exact – and just about all of them are seeking autographs from their favorite players.

But some of them had to settle for a few older players who were roaming the sidelines on this day. Former offensive tackle Erik Williams just founded a sports marketing group and rounded up a few ex-teammates to come to San Antonio for some speaking engagements and autograph sessions.

Williams brought some key contributors to those 1990’s teams, including Leon Lett and Kevin Smith. Also in attendance was Kelvin Martin, Robert Jones and Kevin Williams, while Dixon Edwards has also been at camp the last few days.

Of course, Michael Irvin has been the most recognized former Cowboy in attendance. He’s been keeping a close eye on his reality TV show winner Jesse Holley, who hasn’t disappointed Irvin in the first few days. It’s early, but Holley might have a little something to offer here. Before I opened it I said to myself, don't get pissed off when reading about all of your former heroes and they mention Jesse Holley with them because he was on Irvin's show.

I warned myself. I was ready.

I know how you feel. I didn't watch one episode of the show....mainly because I knew the player wouldn't have a chance....and I really dislike Reality shows.

Anyway, I don't get it with this guy. I tire of seeing questions about him in nearly every blog. I wish they'd focus on who's playing well....on guys that will actually be on the team (or guys that will probably make a strong push).

I guess it'd be a great story if he made it....but it's obvious he won't. I don't see how he's any different than a guy like Jonas Seawright.

Aside from the Irvin/Holley issue stated above. I wish we would bring in some of the older players to talk to the guys and give them some pointers, for both on and off the field. I would love to see them bring in Randy White, Roger Staubach, Drew Pearson, Darren Woodson, etc....

BTW, is Big E still helping with the o-line? He was one hell of a football player and someone that could possibly help instill a bit of attitude in the boys up front.

I don't know, as a "Senior", I can't imagine M. Bennett listening to anybody.
Can't you just hear him saying "Roger, Twitter me with that info. I'm busy yukking it up with X team mates.
It seems to me like the generation gap has gotten wider as I grow older.
Maybe some on the field stuff would work, but "off the field" ??????????

I believe Marcus Spears said Randy White was teaching him hand techniques. both Roger and Troy talk to Romo occasionally and Darren Woodson is at valley ranch all the time.

maybe I just like the kid, but he seems like he would listen to me.

he may be a goof, but I don't think he is stupid, matter of fact he seems pretty bright to me.

Erik Williams and Dixon Edwards? What are they doing around these guys they thought were such losers just a few weeks ago?

Oh, I see. When it's good for business, you suddenly become a supporter.

I fully agree with you, he has to be very bright, he is football knowledgeable, and his tech knowledge is considerable.

However you mistook my meaning.
Tony himself talked about his level of MATURITY this week.
The level of ones "Maturity" determines the generation gap.
You can't buy maturity just like knowledge it is gained, :"over many years".
