Mike Jenkins doesn't really want to talk about last week, when he says he wasn't focused enough, and was caught off guard by Tennessee coming out and throwing the ball so much early on.

"It's a good week to come back on," Jenkins said. "I was going to put (last week) behind me no matter what. I don't dwell on it. It's a week that, it's just something you go through, just something you go through. It's like having a good week. You can't come in off that good week thinking that. You'll just have a bad week.

"I'm definitely looking forward for this week. It's not just him, it's Brett Favre too, watching those guys growing up."

Are u kidding me Mike not focused enough.:banghead:

This could apply to the other 52 players, staff and front office. They need to string together about 4 or 5 bounce-back games in order to save the season.

Basically the story of this team and who is to blame for not being focused after 2 weeks of preparation for a game?

Just basically confirmed what I have said since Sunday.

I am not down on the guy, he has the ability to be great, but don't let that happen again, not like that anyway.

That game was on him and Scandrick, period. The CB better be focused on every snap, because each snap he is on an island!

Hey Mike, bounce back by shutting down Moss and I will give you a pass for last week. :)

Remember guys, we all have days at work where we aren't totally focussed, maybe our old lady yelled at us, dumped us, we scored the night before with someone other than our wife/gf, or just don't have it.

No one really notices because we aren't on national tv and have millions talking about us afterward.

The thing about his bad game that made me so mad was how poor it was.

If Newman gets beat once the board goes wild on how much he is aging.

Jenkins wasn't just thrown on, but he was targeted over and over again. They game planned to attack him, and he let a young, unproven WR and a below average QB beat him over and over again. It's one thing to have a bad game where you were in good position but just didn't make the play, it's a different thing when you are in bad position over and over again so you have to grab the WR, and then get completely burned. The week before was a pretty poor outing as well.

He is a good young player, but he has been pretty disappointing so far.

It was definitely a stinky game. I'm confident he'll bounce back.

I'm really not worried about Jenkins, now Ball on the other hand...

I think Mike Jenkins has played two really good to great games and two games where he has been on the wrong end of some negative plays.

However, the Kenny Britt bomb was not "his fault", and the Johny Knox bomb was not "his fault".

Both of those plays saw the safety next to him blow cover 4 or quarters coverage. That is a zone defense with man-to-man concepts. It is designed to prevent the deep bomb or big play.

On both plays, the safety's deep 1/4 is attacked between the hashes, and on both plays, the safety doesn't carry out his assignment.

On the Knox bomb, Gerald Sensabaugh jumps and underneath route that Alan Ball has covered. As a result, Mike Jenkins has no over the top help in the middle of the field. Knox is a 4.2 player.

On the Britt bomb, Alan Ball bites badly on a play action fake. Again, you have the same result. There is no over the top safety help as the WR attacks the safety's deep 1/4 of the football field, between the hashes. Jenkins is chasing Britt from the start and needs his over the top help or deep help. The safety isn't home on the play.

On both plays, Jenkins is hung out to dry as he chases the WR into the safety's deep 1/4 of the football field, because the safety or deep help, over the top, isn't any where to be found.

On those plays, it is the safety's area or deep 1/4 of the football field that is being attacked.

If you play the coverage correctly, the WR should be doubled or bracketed in that situation, by the CB and S.

I hope they put Jenkins on Randy Moss, and Newman on Percy Harvin when Dallas has three CBs on the field.

I don't like the Harvin on Scandrick match-up in the slot.

That statement right there speaks volumes on this coaching staff.
