Just a guess here, but a pretty educated one - Tony Romo probably won't play as long as his Chargers counterpart Philip Rivers on Saturday. Because of the fifth exhibition this year, the Cowboys would like to treat their third preseason game as if it was their second, meaning Romo would typically play into the second quarter. But that's unlikely to be the case this time, with starting right tackle Marc Colombo (knee) out, and his backup Alex Barron (ankle) called doubtful as well. On Monday Wade Phillips said the sickness Romo has dealt with the last few days could also factor into his playing time.

Majority in here could have called that one. Thanks for the update WG.

This is nice to know. No sense in risking Romo with the O line injuries. Kitna and McGhee could use the work anyway. Hopefully we'll never need to call on either one of them, but you never know.

sounds good to me, give the time to Kitna and McGee and let them get beat up by who ever is lining up over Brewster.

Why not just sit Romo and just start Kitna? Wade has been saying he wanted to see Kitna play with the first team, now is as good a time as any. Its not like Romo is going to get any benefit playing a couple of plays.

Yeah, I don't know why they don't just sit Romo completely, then treat the Miami game as if it were this game. Unless they think the Houston game plus a few series here and there (because that's what it'll add up to) is enough to get him and the first team ready for the season.

I know the Dolphins won't be playing their starters, but it seems like Romo would want the work.

Romo was getting hit and sacked by Colombo's man and pressured by his guy on a few other plays, in the last game.

I'd play Romo some and help the OTs out.

You better start getting those three other OTs ready to go, imo.

In before the "We are going 6-10" posts...

He needs to sit this game. No need to get him hurt before the season even starts. If Romo goes down then we can panic.

I hope to see 2-3 drives unless they score on the first drive.

If this isn't going to be our tune up game then why should it be next week when we play Houston? We play them during the season and I am sure they are going to want to be as vanilla as possible.

Precisely. In other breaking news it's 12 minutes until Wednesday CDT.

I think they should just have him sit it out...I mean come on, the season hasn't even started yet!
