According to DeMarcus Ware, though, himself and some players were talking about the possibility of a .500 finish on Thursday, and at this point, they would gladly take it.

"The thing is, look where we started at," Ware said. "We started the season off really rocky. If we finish 8-8 that means, to us, that we've turned the season around, and we really have something to play for ... it's going to be a lot of hard work. We still have a lot of games - Philly and Washington and Indy coming up this week, but if we can do that, it'll really show the pride of the team."

This conflicts with the "realists'" expectations for the Cowboys. Someone should personally go to DeMarcus Ware and say the team should give up so we can get a high draft pick in a year that will most likely be locked out.

Lets see, we went from the preseason expectation of being the first ever home team playing the Superbowl in our own house to now setting a goal that seems unattainable of 8-8.

Worst season ever. :shoot6:

Maybe they should of set goals in July. The biggest one being, "I will not quit on my team, my coach or the fans. I will give 100% every play, starting in practice and continuing on to the game."

If that was every players goal, they wouldn't be 3-8 right now.

I've been a Cowboys fan for 40 years and have not missed watching a game including the preseason since 1986. I truly cannot remember being so disinterested in any other Cowboys team at this point in the season. I usually listen to every talk radio show out there, but right now I will watch the games on Sunday to cheer on Garrett and Dez (he's on my fantasy team) and pretty much leave it at that until next year.
I sure wish Jerry had seen the signs that Wade had lost his passion for the Head Coach position long before this. Jerry and Wade wasted a year of talent that we can never get back.

What makes it all the worse for me is I'm now relegated to cheering against the Steelers and with all the breaks going their way again I'm afraid we are going to be behind them 5-7 when it come to Lombardi's come February. Very frustrating season to say the least.

Disgusting isn't it.

My feelings as well. :hammer:

I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather watch this team fight it out each week and roar back from 17-0 to lose by 3 against the Saints than watch a Dave Campo coached team get blown out multiple times en route to three consecutive 5-11 starts completely void of talent at all positions.

Wow. I was far, far less interested in each year of the Campo regime.

Landry's last season was pretty rough, too. As was Jimmy's first after the novelty of the first few games wore off and it became pretty clear that we didn't belong on the field with any of the teams we played based off of our talent.

Wade's games this season after the team quit were about as bad as it gets, but the beginning of the season was interesting, and the Garrett games have all been great football. I'm just bummed we only have 5 left before another long offseason.

They seem to be getting longer and longer these last few years.

Can you imagine the stupidity we're going to be subjected to *this* offseason here at CZ? I might actually take a break for a few months, if I can. I don't think I'll be able to take it.

We had a 398x better chance of going to the Super Bowl before the season started than we do of going 8-8.

But I still 8-8 is a dream.

My how things have flopped this year... At the beginning of the 2010 season you couldn't have sold me on the fact Dallas would finish with a possible losing record, wow!

:bang2:

And I'm one of the more realistic posters on this board...
