T.O's Finding Felix

Posted by mickshot at 9/24/2008 12:24 PM CDT on truebluefanclub.com

There was a reception Tuesday evening at the House of Blues in downtown Dallas to celebrate the release of Terrell Owens' latest book, T.O.'s Finding Fitness, which is now out, and before the private gathering Owens had Cowboys running back Felix Jones on his weekly radio show (105.3 FM) as the guest.

Actually pretty funny stuff near the end of the show when Jones was encouraged to ask Owens a question, and he asked about the time he cuaght a touchdown pass at Texas Stadium and sprinted 50 yards to the middle of the field to celebrate on the star. Said Felix, "That just broke my heart."

Later, when talking about his touchdown run at the reception, with T.O. within earshot, Jones talked about how he turned the corner behind Jason Witten's block on his way to the 60-yard touchdown run against Green Bay on Sunday and said he heard Owens, who was heading up field to block, scream at him, "Come on, let's go," as if they were on some convoy. Jones said he was shocked, never before having a teammate in the middle of the play yell something like that at him.

That T.O., and he was sort of amazed by people's reaction to his willingness to block for Jones down field and also run down Nick Collins following the end-zone interception. He maintained that's what he does.

As an LSU fan, I had slowly begun to dread the annual LSU/Arkansas game. The Razorbacks had Darren McFadden and Felix Jones. Both ran the ball too damn well. They had to because Arkansas had a very poor passing attack. What I didn't know was that he was a Cowboys fan at heart. Now, that Jones IS a Dallas Cowboy, I couldn't be happier. It's like getting the best of both worlds: fan + player. I'm glad that my desire for Mendenhall when he was still on the board didn't come true after all.

"very poor" is putting it very nicely.

Well, I wanted it to read as being politically correct. Didn't want to stir up any Razorback fans on here. ;)
