Ten games in the books and Keith Brooking already has his career high in sacks, with 4.0, evidence of the pressure the Cowboys have gotten on opposing quarterbacks.

The huge sack numbers across the board might not be there: DeMarcus Ware won't have 20 sacks again this season and Anthony Spencer's still looking for his first one. But by and large, the Cowboys are making it tough for opposing quarterbacks, which has a lot to do with the defense's solid play these last two months or so.

Brooking gives the credit for his own success on Wade Phillips, who dials up the blitzes, and DeMarcus Ware, who opens things up for other guys with all the attention he draws.

"The majority of my sacks, to be dead honest with you, have come from I'm just running scot-free," Brooking said. "A lot of times the backs are sliding toward No. 94, and as I said yesterday I would do the same thing if I was in the backfield trying to block that guy.

"The one thing that we are doing is we're blitzing our inside linebackers a lot more than I've ever really blitzed in the past . . . (Phillips) is very aggressive in his playcalling."
