I asked this question on our Dallas Cowboys Star Magazine Facebook page (friend us!), and most of the responses were for the usual suspects.
Felix Jones was thrown out there by a couple people, as well as a resurgent Roy Williams and Mike Jenkins. There was some love for Miles Austin as well. Who else do you think could fit in that category?
I've got to think Anthony Spencer, now the starter, would be in the running. The coaches haven't stopped raving about him since last off-season, both his strength in defending the run and the way he can use his hands in rushing the passer, the footwork, all of it.
Who else? From the look of things in mini-camp, third-year defensive back Alan Ball could be a pretty good player in spot duty. He's not about to become a star this year or anything, but I think he could emerge as a solid role player on subpackages.
Offensively the guy I like is Sam Hurd. There's plenty of talk about Austin, but Hurd is sneaky-good. In multiple receiver sets he won't get much attention from defenses, and his hands are pretty solid.
Anyone I'm forgetting?
