We've all been saying it for months now: offensive line and defensive line were probably the Cowboys' top two draft priorities. They went O-Line with Tyron Smith at No. 9, but tried to trade back into the first round for some D-Line help.

Jerry Jones didn't name names, but the defensive linemen taken late Thursday were Cameron Jordan (24th-Saints), Muhammad Wilkerson (30th-Jets) and Cameron Heyward (31st-Steelers). Jones also hinted that running back Mark Ingram (28th-Saints) was a target.

The Cowboys could go defensive line with their first pick on Friday, No. 40 overall, or seek value at another position....

Heard Norm say we brought in Christian Ballard for a visit, but the Failed drug test at the Combine killed that, how about Allan Bailey, Goose rates him at #58

Interesting.

Not sure the value is at DL now that the top guys have all been taken. Someone mentioned Bailey as a guy they're interested in, but I think he's more of a later second/third type guy

Kendrick Ellis is another option. He's #45 on Gooselin's top 100.

I think SDogo said last night that he heard that there were some new issues surrounding Ellis that could have him fall heavily this Draft.

I thought they were trying to trade up after those guys were taken.

Were they looking to get Bowers?

Da'Quan Bowers is still out there

No, either Hayward, Wilkerson, or C Jordan.

Heyward would of been a pipe dream, but Bowers would be an even bigger steal at the 40 slot. His knee is problematic, but he has time to get a feel for it and have our staff to work with him. he is a Medium risk with an extremely High Reward if he pans out to be healthy.

I like Marvin Austin as a NT. He is built like a fireplug, strong and explosive.

If I were a betting man, I'd say a trade down and taking Austin with our next pick are about best odds you can get.

We obviously know people in the UNC program and DL is likely the 2nd position of need.

Also as Goose mentioned to Norm by round 3 the coveted DL will be cleaned out but WR/RB has a bevy of guys going round 3 through 5.

Even though he's only 6'2", could Austin play some DE for us? I like the guy. He's a player.

I was really wanting them to trade up to the last 20s and grab Wilkerson. He would of been a great fit in my opinion. Hopefully Austin will be there at #40.

Trading back into the 1st round would have cost us too much ... see Saints.

If we target DL, there's still going to be some great talent at #40 ... without giving up a thing.

Why not put him at NT? He is built low to the ground and has a lot of strength.

I thought with Jordan falling and ingram we were bound to move up. But Jerry probably didn't want to give up that much. Good for him. He's listening to Jason and stephen

What ever happen 2 Clifton Geathers?

He's first round talent, but very raw. I've haven't heard anything on him in a while..........I would hate us giving up on him.

Anyone hear if Ryan said anything about him?
