Rain will force the Cowboys to relocate practice again today. But with no scheduling conflicts at Cowboys Stadium this week, the team will move indoors to their $1.15 billion new venue.

The Cowboys have held only one practice there, a night workout in August leading up to their third preseason game. Today's practice is closed to the public.

For the first time this season the Cowboys will practice today at Cowboys Stadium with the windy conditions and soon-to-be-here rain.

With back-to-back home games and no other events planned, this is the first time the stadium has been available to the Cowboys for practice. So far this season they have practiced at Southlake Carroll, Coppell and Standridge Stadium because of the elements.

The Cowboys held one of their training camp practices at the new stadium in August but this session is closed to the public.

Don't kid yourself. That stadium was built for a whole bunch of stuff, one of which is the Cowboys.

Yeah, even a billionaire like JJ couldn't justify spending that kind of money for 10 games (2 pre, 8 reg) a year. It's the "other" events which will pay for this venue.

I realize that... I just find it highly annoying that the primary tenant of the building has to be at the mercy of U2 or Jonas Brothers or some other bull**** band/event before getting a practice scheduled

They are at the mercy of paying for that stadium and the only way to do that is book other events there.

You do realize we are only practicing there period because the bubble came down earlier in the year right? Pretty sure no team practices in their home stadium all the time. Maybe you should quit looking for bull**** reasons to ***** about the Cowboys and just be a fan eh?

now I'm not a Cowboys fan because I'm annoyed for them that they're practicing all over the damn place like a high school team because their stadium isn't available to them?

wow, speaking of high school, did you ever get your diploma?

On a positive note, I'll bet the players/coaches welcome the opportunity to get more familiar with their home playing field.

Should be cool AND beneficial,,, it's a good thing :D

I'm just thankful that its raining. That means the clouds are blocking out the sun so that our guys won't be BLINDED FOR LIFE!!11!!1!

I didn't believe anyone would top Coach Fisher's idiotic videoboard "panic" until Coach Smith went all Aztec and started fearing the great all-powerful Sun god. Crazy.

since you don't seem to get it (or are more likely incapable of understanding), I'll rephrase my stance into say, a 3rd grade level of reading?

Who: The Dallas Cowboys
What: The Dallas Cowboys have, up to now, been unable to practice in their own stadium and rather have been forced to practice all over the area
Why: Because you're a 50 Cent fan
Result: I feel bad for them (but more for you)

I think practicing in the new stadium should be something they do frequently. I think it is totally subconscious, BUT the more familiar you are with your environment the better advantage you get from your home field.

Whether it is lighting, the colors in stands, the sunlight through the windows, the feel of the turf, whatever. Less thinking and more instinct when doing the sideline timing pattern, or when practicing catching punts, etc.

Not to mention, the field is good and safe without being wet, you aren't playing on felt over concrete, like some old stadiums.

In any sport, playing more and more on your home field, gives you a slight advantage and that "comfort" zone which can sometimes help in a game of mili-seconds and inches. Confidence means a lot, and comfort and familiarity can help with that. Let the other teams walk around in slackjawed awe and complain about the sunlight through the endzone windows and lose the ball in the scoreboard background. No excuse for the home team to run into same stuff though!

Sounds ridiculous, but every little thing helps IMHO

Wow reading must not be your strong suit. I did not say you were not a fan. I said "be a fan" quit *****ing about nonsense like practicing at the stadium when no teams practice in their stadium.
