Don't Eliminate Bowers As Draft Possibility

For most of draft season, the consensus has been that Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers will be gone in the top five picks of the draft, if not earlier. But you never know.

Despite Bowers' agent shooting down a report that his recovery from knee surgery isn't progressing so well, different teams will have different opinions about his health based on the work of their own medical staff. It would be wrong to dismiss the possibility of Bowers falling on draft day.

IMHO....need to address that brutal Oline: PERIOD

If it is true that multiple teams have taken him off the draft board completely due to his knee, then the likliehood of him being a top 10 pick is MUCH less.

There is where I'm at too. We can get a safety in FA. The oline is getting old and you can't replace it in one year. Sign Huff, resign Sensabaugh, draft Smith in the first, and a guard/center in the second. Resign/sign/draft three DEs and draft a CB.

The OL is brutal, no doubt. Problem is, so is the secondary and the DL.

This team has to take BPA. If Bowers is there and healthy he has to be seriously considered, pass rushers are at a premium and he was one of the best in college last year. Can play the run as well.

Those can be fixed by resigning players and FAs and draft. The oline? No so much.

I fail to see why it's so much easier to find good DEs at value than good OLs. At least we have OL under contract, we don't even have enough DEs to suit up and play.

Yep plus drafting the best talented player availble is optimal in the 1st, especially when drafting that high with the #9 overall.

There is no OL prospect comparable to the defenders that could be available at #9, IMO. This is picking a player you hope contributes to your team for a decade or more. Drafting a player that high based on the needs of one point in time is foolish. You take the man you think will be best over that decade, and try to fill needs in other ways.
