Buerlien, Cunningham, Hutch and Henson?

I don't think it's a big deal.

This, however, is.
The Cowboys have had players on defense wear #33 they just won't let a rb wear it.

Looking at the video of McGee last night I thought he reminded me a lot of Henson. Good size and runs extremely well.

Fortunately, he appeared to be a much better passer than Henson. He looks like he has very good mechanics throwing the ball.

First of all, I was being facetious.

Hugh Millen too.

It almost seems like every team in the league has a QB sporting #7.

I wouldn't want it for that reason, but it is wildly popular among passers.

And why do we let anyone wear numbers like 33 and 55 while protecting others that are in our Ring of Honor?

I'm all for letting a good prospect who comes along have the chance to live up a lengendary number if he wants to try, but some of them we will throw on any camp body and let them keep it if they make the cut.

I was listening to the ticket today. Bob and Dan were talking about McGee. Bob said......."After watching Mcgee for several years at A&M, I've come away with one thought..........boy can that kid take a hit".........

Its pretty rare that bob and dan actually make a funny joke, so I thought it was post worthy.

I just realized something about the number 7.

Stephen McGee
Steve Beurlein
Drew Henson
Chad Hutchinson
Hugh Millen
Randall Cunningham

Besides being all QBs, not one of them is from the Landry era. No one ever wore #7 for the Cowboys while Landry was Head Coach.

In fact, only a handful of guys ever wore single digit numbers in the Landry era.

Efren Herrera, #1, 1974, was the first.
Mitch Hoopes, #9, 1975
Rafael Septien, #1, 1979
John Warren, #5, 1983
Jim Miller, #3, 1984
Mike Saxon, #4, 1985
Roger Ruzek, #9, 1987

No one ever wore #2, #6, or #8 for Landry either.

so which numbers are truly off limits?

I haven't seen a 22 since Emmitt.
I haven't seen 8 or 12 either.

Didn't Antonio Bryant wear 88?

Seems like 74 was being worn a few training camps ago.

It wasn't until 1983 that 2 players on the same team had single digit jersey numbers.

Hopefully it was the player and not the mistic of the number.
