Just a look at the Cowboys roster today, to find room for as-yet-unsigned free agent rookies on the 53-man roll call.

When a new Collective Bargaining Agreement is agreed to, one of the first orders of business in the new league year will likely be the opening of the undrafted free agency period, where teams can fill out their 80-man roster. It's impossible to name names at this point, but maybe we can figure out what positions are possibilities for a young player to stick around.

Of course, injuries could make any spot wide open, but this is the way things line up today.

QB: Jason Garrett says the team will bring a fourth quarterback to camp. However, the team is committed to project Stephen McGee.

RB: The Cowboys may or may not have carries in their offense for Tashard Choice, which suggests he could possibly be available for trades. If he's gone, an undrafted rookie would need to beat out Lonyae Miller, who spent last season on the practice squad....

No thank you. Another Deion influenced kid who has a ton of baggage.

Lonyae Miller definitey has talent as a runner but as I recall, the knock on him was his blocking. Of course that can be said for most rookie RBs breaking into the NFL. As is usually the case, the cuts should prove very interesting this year.

Deunta Williams (UNC, FS) would top my list.

I like Deandre McDaniel (SS, Clemson) and Will Hill (S, Uof F) enough to at least bring him in for a look.

Also, I did like Kendrick Burney of UNC, but I read he had an unbelievably slow 40 time (4.7s...wow). That just won't work at CB.

Anyone at least curious about Ricardo Lockette, WR, Ft Valley St? I know we are fairly loaded at WR, but this kid can fly.

Pat Devlin (QB, Deleware) will get a look by someone for sure. Not sure if it would be us though.

I like alot of the names mentioned so far.

QB- someone will be brought in for a camp body, dont see no one beating out McGee. Pat Devlin was mentined earlier in the thread.

RB is loaded with undrafted names. Would love to bring one of these guys in.

WR- is loaded also. Some of these guys can beat out Jessie Holley or Manny Johnson. Maybe even Ogletree. I think we find a gem this year.

LB- Obviously everyone loves Mark Herzilich. Watch out for Adrien Moten, Jeff Tarpinian, Nick Bellore. Other guys who were suppose to be drafted

DB- A lot of good safeties went undrafted. I like Deunta Williams and Brian Lainhart. Ryan Jones from NW Missouri st. would be a great pickup for Cornerback.
