Garrett Expects Another QB Signed

In this time of uncertainty, it’s tough to get anyone around Valley Ranch to speculate what might occur in terms of free agency.

In getting the chance to chat with Jason Garrett a few times this week, the head coach at least revealed one plan, although it’s not one too surprising. Garrett said the Cowboys will likely sign another quarterback to the roster, if and when free agency begins.

“We anticipate having four quarterbacks going to training camp,” Garrett said this week. “The logical place for us to get one is an undrafted college guy.”...

Obviously Romo is a goner. No other explanation.

My crystal ball has Kitna taking over 1st game.

Tellus you ANIMAL :( Leave Romo ALONE

I do like that JG knows that we need to develop the most important position in football even if we don't need one immediately.

What if we go 7-1 instead of 1-7 this next season if it happens. Then Romo gets hurt again.......well another season over and we won't get to even think about another ring.

I'm just glad we got an offensive guy in charge in this day and time. We just have to develop QBs at all times, even for trade value cause they usually have the most value.

Scott Tolzien has exactly the type of makeup you'd want in a QB. He's tough, gritty, competitive and loves the game of football.

He has some questionable physical tools to work with though. He's a small (6-2, 212), throws sidearm and doesn't have a great arm.

Pro Football Weekly says about him: "He has first round makeup and free agent tools."

Still, for a guy to come in and compete... He'd be my first choice out of all the undrafted FA's.

Sounds like someone to stay away from. I don't see a need to look at a QB with poor mechanics. It takes too long to correct.

I don't make too much of it anyway. Mostly just camp fodder although I'm sure they're always looking for the next Romo.

Wade stood in an empty room and noticed it was empty.
JG stands in the same room and notices even the dust particles in the corners.

So don't correct them.

If the guy can throw, let him throw.

I've never understood why teams would have a guy change something so important.

If a guy has played his entire life doing one thing, why would you try to square peg a round hole and make him switch at the pro level?

Doesn't make sense. If the guy can throw, let him throw.

Unfortunately for this guy, doesn't really sound like he can throw so I'd stay away from him based on that rather than the throwing motion.

Well, they often work on mechanics of throwing. Just an observation. Often oddball mechanics are slow and inefficient.

got news for you people who want another QB in case Tony goes down again. When was the last time anyone won a SB with their backup QB?

In other words you get one to develope; or two maybe. But there is no point of trying to get a QB just because you want one in case your starter goes down. That is what Kitna is for.

Kurt Warner. Cassell was at least decent too. As for the rest, since its the most important position in football, I don't see how we can even think we can ignore it.

We have the best pass rusher in football, and we were 1-7.

I hope Garrett can get Moore back. Under Garrett he could be something.

I guess were going to pull a john beck too and start mcgee game one with our newly signed qb as backup

Tom Brady, Kurt Warner, Jeff Hostetler. Trent Dilfer?

Sounds like FBI material to me...

Not good news for Chris Greisen.

Pretty much a direct challenge to McGee. If the staff liked him they would be looking to get him all the work they could in the preseason as we did with Romo a while back.
