Lee Closer To A Breakout Than Dez?

Even with Roy Williams' recent comments that the lockout benefits veterans, it's really no secret that this NFL is a young man's game.

With that in mind, Bucky Brooks of NFL.com sizes up the breakout potential of several players heading into their second season. While Dez Bryant was certainly the Cowboys' most exciting player last year, and may even be the most talented on the entire roster, an up-and-comer who is often overlooked is Sean Lee, the team's No. 2 pick in 2010.

"The Cowboys need an infusion of speed and athleticism at the linebacker corps," Brooks writes. "Lee not only provides those qualities, but he is an instinctive playmaker with a knack for getting around the ball. His two-interception game against the Indianapolis Colts provided Jason Garrett with a preview of his potential impact in the lineup."...

They really need to stop stealing ideas from this forum. :laugh2:

Give me a healthy Sean Lee over Keith Brookings all day errrr day at this point.

I don't buy that Lee can physically handle the significant physical abuse that NFL LBs must endure.

I hope I'm wrong.

The kid looks like he can be a real playmaker if he can stay healthy.

That's the biggest question for him right now.

A healthy Lee is alot better than Brooking but like Dezstar health is the question.

Am I the only one who doesn't really think Dez has to "breakout?" The kid is a monster and already proved it...for him it's just a matter of staying healthy, he was already a star-calibre player last year.

I think that's fair. Dez proved himself before he got hurt. He was already being relied on as one of the team's top receivers, even though there is room for him to take it up another notch.

Lee showed good things in spits and spurts. He wasn't able to grab significant playing time even though Dallas needed a nickel linebacker. Lee grabbing the starting role and shining in it would be a breakout.

That will be the key word...

You stole my answer!

That's the one key word when it comes to Sean Lee - health.

In my opinion, that's the only thing that can possibly stand in his way.

Yep, Penn State is truly linebacker university... He can play but I hope his health holds up being that he's already 25.

Yeah, I'm wondering where people were last year. He was a one man show.

I feel the exact way.

There were times where it felt like Dez was the freak player in HS who was so much better than everyone else. And it was like "Damn, just find a way for him to possess the ball. Anyway. Just give it to him"
