Looking For WR Speed Down Here

While there are some potential first-round picks at most positions here at the Senior Bowl, that’s not really the case at wide receiver.

The top three prospects, from most draft analysts and experts, are all underclassmen, including Georgia’s A.J. Green and Alabama’s Julio Jones.

Probably, the top receiver here in Mobile this week is Boise State’s Titus Young, who seems a little rough around the edges in some areas, except one – speed.

This guy can really go. I was standing next to an AFC assistant coach who blurted out: “This Titus can fly back to Boise if he wanted to. That’s how fast he is.”...

Titus young as a mid-round pick would thrill me.

A guy I'd be thrilled about would be Santana Moss. Romo hasn't had a quick receiver since TG and he had great chemistry when Glenn.

Skill positions should be the last thing on our mind during the draft and FA, we need to get better in the trenches first.

I think Titus will rise up the boards and possibly not be there in the 3rd or 4th rounds.

I have been trying to look at WRs at the senior bowl that might be in the later rounds (4th or later).

I kind of like the TCU Guy Kerley (sp?) he seems to be doing a good job and could be a slot WR while he also has some ST exp.

I also am getting a bit of man love crush for the Hawaii WR Salas. He has looked very nice so far with his catches...hand catcher not body catcher. Looks good in his routes could be a nice slot guy. Plus it is hard to ignore his production the last two season no matter what system he played in.

:star: I agree with you BrAin, I don't think Titus will still be there by the 3rd or 4th round.

I'd take Salas in the 5th and say we got a steal. Fits into the mold of tough, tackle breaking, strong WR. Played outside WR as well as slot. Big mismatch in the slot. Nice redzone target. Not going to run a 4.4. Has a Miles type personality.

If we do take a WR I hope he is a bullet like Randall Cobb of Kentucky. Someone who is just pure fast and hard to catch.

Plus he can play RB, return punts or kicks, and even play a little QB, say in the Wildcat formations. What makes Brown in Miami so dangerous is that he actually will throw the ball from that formation.

He and Cecil Shorts II are my 2 pet cat WRs.

I feel like the Boys offense has been missing the speedy slot receiver guy for a long time. Dexter McCluster was a guy last year who would have fit in well. Guys like Jeremy Kerley would be great. Slot WR and can double as kick returner. All the guys mentioned in this thread fit that style..Titus Young, Randall Cobb....This team needs to add that dimension to the offense in the middle rounds.

There will be some random out of nowhere 1st rounder and he is a canidate to be that guy.

Casey Matthews too. Some team like Oakland can't wait to make that their 1st round pick.

Im with Brain on this one.... Kerley from TCU is going to be a player... Hes fast and has great hands, he plays offense and special teams and doesnt lose a step..... Would love to see a star on his helmet.

I heard Titus interviewed on the radio down here today. He came across as very mature. Very respectful to the interviewer and a nice guy.

Can never hurt to add productive players from a winning program...Titus Young and Jeremy Kerley are accustomed to winning games thats for sure.

Leonard Hankerson.

Teddy Williams and OTree should be sufficient unless Dallas can find a return man in the process.
