You need to start watching the games then. When Bennett is in the game we average over 5 yards a carry. He's been a STUD his entire time here, but most fans only value a player when the ball is in his hands. That is 90% of Bennett's job.

No one's arguing that. He's without a doubt the best "blocking" TE on the team, but with his size, speed and agility...that's not near enough.

I've been high on Martellus Bennett since day one and his blocking already contradicts the popular narrative of him as a lazy bum; you don't do that well in run-blocking if you don't put in effort.

If he picks it up a bit in the receiving game then a lot of you guys are going to have to be eating a heaping helping of humble pie.

Bennett looked fine in camp today. Had a drop that got the crowd moaning but that's true of every player -- Witten had a drop just before. Phillips looks like a jag to me. Solid but nothing special.
