Broaddus' mock:

1. LB Eric Kendricks
2. RB TJ Yeldon
3. CB Josh Shaw
4. OT Chaz Green
5. DE Frank Clark
7. QB Sean Mannion
7. WR George Farmer

Bryan Broaddus:
The closer we get to this upcoming draft the more I believe that there might not be a running back or cornerback that they really like at their spot in the first round. If that happens to be the case and the opportunity to trade back is not there, then they would look to take a linebacker or defensive end. In this case I selected Eric Kendricks, who is a super productive player. T.J. Yeldon is a second or third-round pick in my book and has some complete running back traits. Josh Shaw has the size for the position and can play either on or off in coverage. Chaz Green played left tackle for the Gators and would make an ideal swing tackle until he gets some experience in the league. If there is a player in this draft that really has my interest it is Frank Clark and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see him go much earlier than the fifth, but if he is there I am turning in his name. Sean Mannion physically looks like Joe Flacco in the pocket. Like Clark he is probably gone here, but is a steal if he is available. In the seventh round I am just looking for traits to draft. At 6-1, 220 with 4.35 speed, George Farmer is my guy. Like how he plays in space with the ball.

If I was a betting man, I'd say Broaddus' looks the most realistic. I may be a bit biased since his mock looks really similar to the mock I made this morning http://cowboyszone.com/threads/first-attempt-a-mock-morris-claiborne-traded.319717/

Broaddus and Brugler seem to be more informed than the others and it's interesting to see that they have many of the same players (Yeldon, Clark, Mannion, Farmer)

way way too early for Green, too many things wrong with him starting from injuries.I would rather take Donavan smith or the Sooners tackle.for a mid rd OT.I like the draft of David but not a fan of drafting guys who are seriously injured in college.

From players in each round, I would mix and match for this:

Byron Jones
Danielle Hunter
Josh Shaw
Mike Davis
Frank Clark
Laurence Gibson
George Farmer

Not kidding here, I'm starting to suspect that these guys get some of their ideas from the CowboysZone.

The sudden interest in Frank Clark, for example.

Good to see Broaddus is reading my posts (Farmer in the 7th)....

I would be okay with Broaddus' whole draft. After Hitchens last year, Green would earn a wait-and-see from me rather than my usual what-the-hell reaction.

2nd and 3rd are really questionable
Hunter in the 2nd ? Why a workout warrior? Way too early
Shaw doesn't have the speed to play CB
Gibson will be long gone by then.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I get why there is intrigue, what I do not understand is how they can rationalize him being a draftable player. He has done virtually nothing except play special teams since being a high school phenom.

Agreed.

Blow the first two rounds and you've blown your mock.

Kendricks isn't a first round talent and Yeldon's not a second round talent.

You are just upset because he did not draft a CB until the 3rd round.

Yes, #60 is probably early for Hunter; however, I have studied his game footage and there is a reason that he did not rack up sacks. They just rarely had him all out pass rushing. He was really good against the run and he had coverage on the RB if he was anywhere near him. Even when the RB would just come up to the line to block that was enough to keep Hunter there to cover him and not rush the passer. When passes where throw to his side he always held to to go for the block over rushing.

Shaw has plenty of speed and has played Safety. He is a good hitter/tackler. IMO he can play CB or Safety and is a better Safety prospect than many of the Safety only guys in this draft.
Josh Shaw
Height: 6004
Weight: 201
40 Yrd Dash: 4.44
20 Yrd Dash: 2.59
10 Yrd Dash: 1.54
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 26
Vertical Jump: 37 1/2
Broad Jump: 10'10"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.12
3-Cone Drill: 7.01

In regards to Gibson I'm just picking players that were in their drafts. I can see him possibly being there in the 7th. He is very raw. I would actually prefer Chaz Green but they took him in the 4th with seems too early.

I probably like Helman's the most. Hunter isn't my favorite but I can see why his potential would be intriguing at 60.

He's one of Dane Brugler's top sleepers in the class. For whatever that's worth.

Yeah, I get that. His lack of production is an issue but is also the only reason a player of his physical talents and abilities is even considered a late round or UDFA candidate.

His freshman year, he was a fall enrollee and never gained ground on freshman phenom Robert Woods (his high school teammate) who enrolled the previous spring. Lane Kiffin, in all his wisdom, moved Farmer to halfback halfway through the season, and he injured his ankle and missed the rest of the season.

The next year, they moved him back and forth between RB and WR, and now he was behind Woods and another high school teammate, Marqise Lee. He also got injured early in the season and missed some games.

His junior year, he's having a great camp and looks like the 5-star prospect he was in high school. Tears ligaments in his knee and misses the whole season.

Last year, as a redshirt junior, he has a great camp and is in the mix for playing time. Nelson Agholar is the clear #1, with Farmer and Darreus Rogers competing for #2. The freshmen arrive and phenoms JuJU Smith and Adoree' Jackson are all getting snaps at WR. Farmer gets 25 catches and 4 TD's. His dad,an ex NFL-player and apparently a bit of a soccer mom, gets upset about George not getting enough of an opportunity and feels Sarkissian is more loyal to his recruits (Smith and Jackson) than Farmer, pretty much makes his son go pro, banking on his potential.

I spend time on a USC message board similar to this one, and fans have been clamoring for George to get more looks and were really disappointed he went pro.

Part of the Front Office's job is to determine what a prospect could/should be. I don't think a 7th round pick is a huge gamble on Farmer's potential. A 5th round pick? Sure, that's banking too much on potential. I'd also be okay with making him a priority target in UDFA but then you are possibly giving a bigger signing bonus than he would have got as a 7th rounder,

Jones is good but the combine is the reason why he's mocked as a first rd talent not skill.
Hunter is the slowest guy off the ball every time.
Everyone else is pretty legit.
