There’s a reason Jerry Jones isn’t bothered by drafting players who are either injured now, or have been in the past, or maybe a combination of both.
The businessman in Jerry Jones is always looking for a bargain, and when it comes to the draft, the word is usually value.
He’s done with several players in the past and this year’s example was Bruce Carter, who suffered a torn ACL in November and will be hard-pressed to be 100 percent by the start of training camp. However, there were early draft projections that had Carter going in the middle of the first round, had it not been for the injury.
And that’s the value Jerry is looking for, especially if he can return to speed, if not faster. The one drawback to that is the lockout, which prevents Carter from being here at Valley Ranch right now working with some of the best trainers in the NFL, especially when it comes to rehab assignments.
But even Carter’s college coach at North Carolina, Butch Davis, had some positive things to say about Carter in terms of getting himself ready to play...
