That was the best part of the interview for me. What distinguishes the good ones from the great ones is talent, hardwork and the proficiency at which they dissect film.
Having grown up in a family where that's what they did, it should be second nature to him.
Lazy players don't like to do extensive film study. I expect Carpenter to gain a huge advantage over his competition by not only enjoying the study of film but being able to dissect an opponent's strengths, weaknesses and tendencies through film study.
