It would be nice to have a center that does not need help. But I guess that is asking too much.

I suspect you are not going to find many teams with starting centers that fit that criteria. But it would be nice....

If you don't want to spend a high pick on a Guard, then take Winters. He can play Guard or Tackle and he won't be a 1st round pick.

Not really. They have modest contracts and the Cowboys would be fine if they were the backups rather than the starters. Bernadeau especially since it appears he can play center as well as guard. It would not bode well for Arkin and Kowalski but, as Parcells noted, a teams needs to be constantly churning the bottom of its roster.

Draft Barrett Jones of Alabama at 18. He has won kudos at guard, tackle, and center, and can fill any of those holes like a champion. Moreover, he's a RKoG.

If healthy, Costa is way ahead of Kowlaski.

I expect that what Jerry is saying is that we are going to look at a G or C/G in FA or the draft. It's an open competition at C/RG.

Either way, Costa is going to get his RFA tender and will be in a make or break year.

I hope someone takes Costa away. He was an UDFA, so the Cowboys wouldn't receive anything in return.

Well obviously you haven't watched any film, or talked to anyone knowledgeable about the draft. Most of the top "draft" guys have Cooper as a top 5 guy in this draft. And many are moving him ahead of Warmack

Kind of like last year when all the draft "experts" and the Fellowship of DeCastro had him pegged as the best guard prospect in the past decade...

And all the dumb GMs passed on him until pick 24.

Its a shame GMs don't read this board for draft advice. We have at least 1, 254 members who are expert scouts. And another 354 who are top of the line GMs.

Costa's injuries worry me. Also, I think he get too much credit for that game against the Ravens.

I worry about that too.

Unfortunately, once you injure your back, you are susceptible to re-occurring injuries there more frequently. It doesn't help he plays on the line, just added extra strain on his back every play.

and as usual you are wrong. Outside of Last year and even THEN show me someone that thought Descatro would go in the top 10.

Show me the so called top 10 guards of the last 5 years.

I may not be able to find it, but early on there was talk about decastro going yo Carolina. And we all know there was talk of us taking pouncey the year before

That's a valid point too.

That's Horse Feathers about Levitre going in the first round. That was NEVER the case. He was always touted no higher than a mid second early third.

Too much credit? Or too much is getting read into one very good game?

Dude, I was using obvious hyperbole to make the point that guard prospects are often overvalued by fans.

Both really. Yes he seemed to play a good game, but the Ravens, at that point, where really struggling against the run.
