News: DC: Cowboys Benefit From More Mature, Skilled Kearse

His tackles are within the rules and hard. That’s not easy to do these days.

He's 6-4, 216 lbs., so he certainly fits the physical traits that a SS would suggest. He's also known as a big hitter, so there's that, too.

He's also saying that other defensive players look up to him as a leader, so, evidently, that's something that's equally as valuable. :)

I have one concern about Kearse: the Vikings know him well. He was not a starter for them. That tells me they know his vulnerabilities. If they take advantage of him, other teams will quickly follow suit. This is Jayron Kearse’s “prove-it” game. (Personally, I think he will be up to the challenge, but we’ll find out on Sunday.)

I really like this player. His versatility is a great tool for Quinn to have. He’s all over the sub-packages.

yeah he’s been a bit of a monster…you see this large guy busting through blockers from the secondary to make a violent tackle and you’re thinking who was that…DE, LB..? Nope Kearse

All the safeties we got were in reality crappy. Amazing what a good coach can do.

It could be good coaching or it could be our system is a good fit for the type of player he is. System can be even more important than coaching in some situations.

I hope the budget can fit both Kazee & Kearse back for 2022 the two of them have made a ton of difference to the overall attitude on the field. This was a soft defense for quite awhile.

sorry man but this just is overly exgeatraed and dramatic..
A gift from the Gods.

SMH ughh

please dont encourage Jerry to overpay another guy who played well in 6 games..this is how the jaylon smiths of the world get paid way above their paygrade..

we have history a few at Safetys, many at wrs, some Lbs and a few DTs way overpaid over one solid season..

He’s playing out of his mind

come on man...

No one is forcing Jerry to overpay anyone. That's all on Jerry and no one else.

However, when you have someone like Kearse who is playing better than anyone has expected, and comes at affordable price, you pay him.

I will take a big and physical guy like Kearse anyday over Woods - which is an undersize safety who did do much for us. Isn't he with the Vikings? I see us taking advantage of him rather than getting the best of Kearse.

Definitely the surprise player among the off-season acquisitions. Love the physicality and how he seems to be everywhere.

It's being said that he's overcome his former wild tendencies. His play has been terrific, for the Dallas Cowboys -- seems to me like that's all that counts. :) We'll see how it goes vs. the Vikes! It's been reported that he's going "great guns" under Dan Quinn and his scheme -- very physical and a leader.

This cat has transformed into a really good contributor. I don't recall him playing that well on his previous teams.

He was a great find. Someone did their homework on him and saw the fit. I remember thinking when we brought in him, Hooker and I think Kazee or Neal…I liked all guys except Kearse….he just seemed like a stop gap. Solid find. He’s making some plays as just haven’t seen at safety in awhile.
