CowBuzz: Pro Athletes React To Witten’s Historical Milestone & Bailey’s Kick
Tuesday, December 08, 2015 6:23 PM CST

In the midst of an exhilarating win for the Cowboys, tight endJason Witten became the 12th player in NFL history to reach 1,000 plus career receptions. The 1,000th catch came in the second quarter and social media erupted in support of Witten, only the 2nd tight end to make this elite list. On Twitter, several former and current athletes were happy for 82 and wanted to have the chance to congratulate him and celebrate the moment.

I know that many star NFL players are emotional and like to dance (or throw up the X) in the end zone after a touchdown but I admire Jason Witten for his professionalism and lack of showboating. You would have never known that he hit 1000 catches by his demeanor after the play Monday night. He just got up and trotted back to the huddle. A true pro.

Agreed, but he's actually one of the biggest trash-talkers at training camp. I asked him if he is the same during the game, and he said no.

He probably didn't even know it.

Congrats to Jason Witten.

But I bet some Jason Garrett haters whine that Jason is a bad coach, because Romo got injured so,couldn't throw,it to him. Or that the game plan wasn't made for number 1000 to be a TD..

Lol...

Not dancing or lack of showboating doesn't make you any less of a professional in this game lol. Y'all are soo funny at times but I do love Witten as a player.

I remember complaints from over 8 years ago that we threw to Witten too much. Good thing those people will never come close to coaching for the Cowboys.

I would so like Witten to win an SB with the Cowboys.

It would be well deserved not just for his services to the Boys both on and off the field but to the entire NFL.

You are right, Phil, it doesn't. I should have said IMHO. I just don't care for the excessive "look at me, look at me" stuff.
