IRVING, Texas – In just under the span of a year, Nick Hayden has gone from unknown to old salt those familiar with the Cowboys’ defensive line situation know why. It’s only been 16 months since...

I don't get these posts and articles about Hayden's contribution this year either. I'll be shocked if he makes the final 53.

I appreciate Hayden's efforts last season. He played through injury and played a lot of snaps.

Having said that, he is just not very talented. This season more than most should be about developing young players. I don't see any reason to keep Hayden on the roster. Yes, I'm sure that he would be better with less snaps played, but he's not a guy to develop for the future. I want to see Bishop and Coleman on the roster as the backup 1-techs. Bass is another possibility.

Why does the media act like having a rotation of players is some revolutionary new tactic that will mask the deficiencies of bad players? Bad is bad.

I think if the players stay healthy then he won't make the team. I think a few of the 7th rounders can outplay him.

Hayden been more of an afterthought lately to me, as I think more of all the other DL brought in to compete.

I think people that are high on Hayden just remember that he was the best of the street players brought in except Selvie who was a good find.
Hayden's value to some may seem inflated, as he seemed to make more plays than he normally would have. Because he wasn't targeted by opposing OL as a threat.

Now maybe that's just me. Maybe he could be a solid player with a cast of very good players. But I think he has a lot of competiton, and probably too much to make the roster.
Doesn't mean he doesn't show enough to be picked up by another team though. If all the rookies step up and look good.
I hope he has a good camp, if for anything they all push each other to get better.

Good gosh, y'all!

It seems like the impending defensive apoc . . . apocl . . .apocyl . . . horrific year for a defense when we start extolling the names like Melton, Hayden, etc. At best, these are journeymen. Others inexperienced. Others just plain bad players that no other team would half. Do not be deceived!

Makes me ill at ease to know how terribly this D-line year is unfolding. Let's just make up our minds that to win, we need to keep OUR offense on the field and our defense off the field.

War, what is it good for! Absolutely nuthing, ahuh-ahuh.

Like several others have already said, the only way Hayden should see any significant playing time is if there's injuries. If everyone stays healthy through the preseason he may not even make the 53.

Although, I was highly amused by his TD celebration in the Vikings game, so I do give him some points for that...:p
