IRVING, Texas – Running back Lance Dunbar’s uncertain if he’ll play this weekend after getting out of his walking boot on his sprained foot.

Dunbar, who had a strong training camp and served as the No. 2 back throughout the preseason, injured his left foot against the Cardinals two and a half weeks ago and is now starting to move around more easily.

The backup running back finished with eight carries for 45 yards and six receptions for 83 yards in the preseason. He said the Cowboys are taking it slow, and he’s still not sure if he’ll play this weekend.

“We’re going to see how it feels after running (Monday), not really running, but jogging a little bit, some movement,” Dunbar said. “It’s picking up day by day, just trying to see how it’s going to react.”

Here are some more notes on the off day after Monday’s practice.

What do we know about Edgar Jones? Does he bring any value to the team aside from STs?

Sounds like he's a player. Too small to play DE in the 3-4 maybe and not able to play OLB in it either. Maybe he's destined for greatness in the 4-3 as a DE. Or maybe he's a JAG. We'll see soon enough.

It would be nice if Jones/Selvie/Rayford provide us with a combined 10 sacks this year. It's would give us a nice rotation. I hate to give up on a kid so soon but if these guys play well we can end the Kyle Wilbur experiment. He needs to play in a 3-4

"We’re not the only team working hard,” Murray said. “We’re not the only team coming in Mondays, full pads, we’re not the only team doing that. So we’ve got to separate ourselves come Sunday about execution, about finishing, and those two things are going to get us over the hump.”

Amen, Brother...
