I'm really interested to see if the Cowboys will match Jones against the playmaker TEs they face. In particular Graham and Gronkowski. Obviously he can't out physical them, but he is athletic enough to deal with their height advantage.

And routinely looked FAR worse than Jones did in mini-camp and TC that year. Left and right there were reports coming out with him being burned by receivers. I have heard nothing but positive buzz on Jones throughout the preseason, both with how is playing physically and mentally.

Wasn't Claiborne limited in practice for most of the offseason prior to his rookie year?

Does it concern anyone that he is currently 4-5th on our depth chart at CB (even after Scandrick went down to injury) and 3-4th on our depth chart at S.

Reports are his is doing well, but how well is he doing when he is that low on our depth chart on a secondary that isn't exactly respected as one of the top ones in the league?

For all the grief Claiborne gets, he was a starter Game #1 and he is a starter now.

jut like some have pet cats some have pet hates and now w know whose it is for windjc

The Cowboys record for drafting CB high has been terrible for many years. Newman was the only good one. Hopefully they got it right this time.

How many different people have been heading the defense over the past 10 years?

I don't know how much TC time he had his rookie season. But I do know in mini-camp he was getting burned by raw WRs and he looked terrible against Dez in the TC videos and articles I saw and read from that year.

I understand Dez is a monster, but this was 2012. He wasn't an established route runner, he didn't become one until mid-way through 2012.

Claiborne didn't do much at all to earn his spot that year. Jones has at least, from what I've read, held his own in camp.

Hmm, I don't remember that much at all. In fact, as far as I am aware he didn't even practice in mini-camp that year as he was recovering from his wrist. His first action was in training camp, and really only remember reports of him being either injured or doing well.

I don't understand drafting a corner that high only to turn him into a safety. Why not draft a safety in the first place? I'm not a fan of this dual position thing. It's hard enough grasping one position in the NFL. Two makes it even more difficult, especially when one is one of the hardest positions in the league, aka CB. We need to hurry up and choose what we want him to be and keep him here. We're going to limit his effectiveness by making him constantly have to worry about skillsets for both cornerback and safety.

I'm not a fan of dual position either. It's a fine line IMO. You can really mess up a guy doing this. I could see Byron getting the Antrel Rolle treatment.

If he becomes a good starting FS than we'll all happily accept it!
