IRVING, Texas – Knee-jerk reactions aren’t the hallmarks of successful football clubs.

When you’re talking about the world of NFL contracts and big-money decisions, it’s always the long play that has to be considered. It takes a big picture approach to successfully navigate the slow churn of the salary cap era.

All of that said, things suddenly look quite bleak for the Cowboys’ pass rush, don’t they?

The NFL handed down a four-game suspension of Randy Gregory on Friday afternoon, ensuring that last year’s No. 60 overall pick won’t be available for the first four games of the 2016 season. It’s a loss that further hamstrings what was already a thin group on the Dallas defensive line.

I felt we needed a vet de before this. Maybe now a better vet de but really doesn't change a lot. We still need a DT very much and since we needed a de anyways just means he will play more

I don't think Gregory was going be the starter so I think we look to FA at DE. Again like I said before we can use players on every level of this football team

No, you love the roadblocks of logic...I was just describing your directions, now that you finalized the personal attacks. But still ignore the validity that was presented. The defense needs a lot of cap flow as well as even more draft value...but you state the team is hurt unless the most costly piece at quarterback is taken while a franchise quarterback has projectable years at it's helm, and the team being his.

And the grammar cops would have pulled one over for the done this road error.

I'll stick to a Smith & Wesson, .45 cal 1911 to a Celtic long sword or bearded axe.
