Anybody else trying to figure out how we can run with two LBs in base and bring in an extra Safety with Awuzie back? Especially if Heath clears protocol.

If I see Jaylon trying to find the TE in space again, or filling the wrong hole in run support for no reason at all again, I think I'm going to lose it. Wilson can't do it. The ST we picked up is not an option inside. Durant hasn't looked like Durant at all this year.

That is exactly the defensive strategy I would use. I would accept that an extra linebacker (3rd one) is worthless given our players without Lee on the field. It's a wasted position spot at this point with the talent we have. Yes, that means it will cost a few longer runs, but having an extra defensive back would mean better coverage on tight-ends and running backs and also someone that has the speed to catch someone who gets through. I think our line is better at stopping the run than our linebackers anyway.

I guarantee you that Smith will play most of the night at MLB. He will play terrible like always and stay in there. This past training camp they were training Wilson to be Lee's back up, I would let him play there and Wilbur back on the strong side. That makes sense, so you won't see it on Sunday. Same with Green, Garrett will roll him out there on Sunday night, no help and make the Eagle's DE a superstar, and defensive player of the week. It's the way the Cowboys roll now a days.

I would like to see Wilson and Hitchens as the 2 LBs in Nickel.

They do play a lot of snaps with 3 Safeties on the field.

It will be interesting to see where Awuzie plays. He replaced Heath on some snaps the last time he played.

Jones does a good job on TE's. Play him as a Rover type backer.

Awuzie is going to be able to cover them, too. Kavon can tackle what's in front of him. Woods and Jones can cover. And Woods tackles well in the open field.

We've got a pretty good mix back there.

Durant is one of those dudes I wish we got earlier in his career.

1. I don’t trust the coaches to do the right thing and keep Jaylon out of there.

2. I don’t trust the linebackers to step up enough to cover for Lee’s absence.

Ertz and Celek are licking there chops right now! Probably watched about 20 minutes of tape on Jaylon then went out for a steak or something while laughing the whole time..........

How bad are the decisions by a FO that chooses to go into a season with only 2 LBs that can play at a good level

Absolutely pathetic

let the season die already. play the rookies, get to the end of the year, tease the fans, fire useless people, keep Garret to piss us off and we celebrate mediocrity next year as well.

Dallas Cowboys welcome to mediocrity.

I asked you in another thread what adjustments the offensive staff didn't make last week that you thought should have been made. We're there any?

I think its pretty obvious that more help should have been given to Green. Line a TE up next to him, have a RB chip him, even if it is required on virtually every play. You do not just stand there and watch your LT almost give up an NFL record number of sacks, that is totally on coaching. If you go back and watch the podcast of The Break from Monday they all say the exact same thing, that after it became clear the Green was not able to compete at an acceptable level, you either have to make adjustments to your blocking scheme or you have to bench him.

Yes, they did bench him, but not before he was one sack away from giving up an all time record, that was way too little too late at that point. You want another adjustment, how about going after the wide 9 with your running game. That is the Achilles hill of the wide 9, it is a very weak run defense formation because your ends are lined up outside the tackle box.

And another brilliant move by this coaching staff was leaving Dak in a game that was a blowout loss with no chance of winning and letting the defense tee off on him. That's just brilliant, Garrett should get another COTY award for that move by itself.
