Why do we have this Parnell hype? When he played he was OK, its not like he wasnt replaceable .... He still got beat by speed in games and on PFF he and Free graded out almost identical. And Free is no world beater
Because to have a backup come in and play at the same level as a starter is not an easy task to replace, especially on the offensive line. He was a very good backup, and given Free's injury history, we need to be protected at RT
We replace him through the Draft. Free will be fine for at least 2 more years. Weems may already be good enough.
sure he is. Got any proof or just hot air?

I disagree. It was always gonna be him or Free.
I mean there was never a possibility to keep Free and Parnell, even if we extended Parnell while he was still cheap(er). Plus, it would have been pointless to keep them both on the roster. They have the same ceilings. We need to start grooming an eventual starter. Parnell is no spring chicken.
My point was they could have extended Parnell for about 3M per and he would have been the starter this year.
They could have, but then they'd be choosing him over Free. My point is, it was always gonna come down to him or Free. They didn't extend him last year which means they probably already made their decision.
