IRVING, Texas – For more than a month, the targeted date for Tony Romo’s return has been Nov. 22 for the Cowboys’ Week 11 game against Miami.

That’s been the best-case scenario, and asked about it on Tuesday morning, Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said there’s no reason to believe Romo won’t meet it.

"No, there’s no reason,” Jones said. “He’s really doing well – you’d like to say ahead of schedule, but who knows about that. But still, I know of no reason why he won’t be playing at that time.”

Dr. Jerry has spoken! We need to find a way to win before then to still have a chance. JSS... just survive somehow.

No reason to think we will win a game before Week 11 either.

Luckily for Dallas they're playing Sam Badford and the Philadelphia Eagles.

My God. You talk about a matchup between two bad football teams.

The countdown is on!

I'm more optimistic than I was yesterday, really don't know why. If we have to run the table to get in when Romo gets back, I have a feeling this team might do exactly that. And why would that be out of the realm of possibility if the Romo-led Cowboys are truly championship material? I just witnessed four teams (Patriots, Broncos, Bengals, Panthers) win their last seven games in a row and some of those teams have done it with far less capable QBs than Romo.

Obviously, it is a slightly different situation -- our games will be "must win" games and the games played by those aforementioned teams were "nice to win" games, so the pressure will be different. But the point is, if we are truly a contending team when Romo is leading the way, this isn't exactly an impossible situation. You just need to win the game they put in front of you that week.

Somebody's gotta win this poop-sandwich. With Romo back, we're a better team than the others.

We just can't be 3 games back at that point.

Don't really love that that first game back is against a resurgent MIA team. Wake going down is a blessing in that one regard, I guess.

I think they "resurged" for exactly one game. That rah-rah stuff Carpenter is bringing doesn't last very long. Yeah, they were a sleeping giant alright. The Patriots put them right back to sleep.

This week will tell us a lot. That Pats team looks like a contender for a perfect season again, to me. You play them hard and well, and they still put up 30 on you, no problem. And most of the points you score against them come after the game's already decided.

But, yeah, I know what you mean about the dead-cat bounce with a tough new young coach.

My preference is that if we can get a win or two in these next 3 games, I'd play Cassell or Weedon on the 22nd and let Romo come in on Thanksgiving. That way he gets 10 days to rest before coming having to try and run the table...

He's been resting for a month and a half now. I think he's rested enough.
