FRISCO, Texas – Judging by his play these last two games, maybe La’el Collins shouldn’t be practicing this week.

After all, the Cowboys’ right tackle has played arguably his best games of the season these past two weeks – despite missing six days of practice with a back injury. The problem was bad enough to throw his availability into question – and yet Collins managed the issue well enough to shut out top-tier pass rushers like Ryan Kerrigan and Jason Pierre-Paul in wins against Washington and New York.

“The nature of the National Football League is guys get banged up,” said Cowboys coach Jason Garrett earlier this week. “You have to be able to function when the conditions aren’t ideal, and he’s done a good job of that the last couple of weeks.”

From what I’ve seen, he’s playing much better. Hopefully we can get his expected potential greatness at RT and we won’t be missing Free.

There's always a learning curve when moving positions on the OLine, especially a transition from G to T. Gotta give it some time...

I remember some years ago A LOT of people around these parts were impatient when Tyron moved from RT to LT and were calling for him to move back. Then of course he goes to on be a perennial all-pro at the position...

If this kid reaches the potential he was projected before the unfortunate incident which knocked him out of the draft, this could be a great thing for this line. Then find a left guard that can hang with the pro bowlers, and this will be the best line in football.

Then project a second year for the kiddie corp of DBs and an addition of perhaps a safety and linebacker in the draft. A playmaker addition to the WR corp. And perhaps Rico live up to his potential at TE, and Switz get on the field with Beas. And one free agent that is not out of the bargain basement, and this team could be ready for prime time.

Zeke will be out to show the world he is the best in the league this next season. Then perhaps the Red Headed Clapper could ride talent into an NFC Championship game.
