On Target Date; FB Re-Signed IRVING, Texas – Whether or not DeMarcus Lawrence has a certain date or game in mind that he’s trying to come back for, he has no intention of sharing it.

“Nope,” the rookie pass-rusher said with a smile when asked about a target date for return.

“I’m not full speed right now,” Lawrence said Tuesday. “Jogging right now. I’m feeling good – moving along day by day.”

Lawrence said his primary focus is keeping his strength up, hitting the weight room with plenty of squatting and leg presses.

So basically he doesn't want the media to know ? Orrrrrrr he's worse than we thought

Uggh possible total of 12 weeks, dare I say just in time for the playoffs?:omg:

Or he's enjoying the time off. Why rush things?

Why rush things? It's a 16 game season. He sure as Hell better not be enjoying his time off and thinking why rush things...

Well hes 5 weeks from being allowed to practice, so im not sure what you want.

Don't want anything different. I have no problem with Lawrence or what he said. My comment was based on what the other poster was inferring. I don't think Lawrence feels the way he framed it at all, but God help us if he is just sitting there and just "enjoying his time off" and thinking "why rush things"...

I think much like when dealing with the Spurs or Patriots, this team in general does not want it's injury status to be public knowledge. It's obviously deliberate at this point. At least to me it is.

I have watched Popovich and Belichek treat the media like just one more adversary and been the better for it.

The broken foot injury he suffered in late July was supposed to keep him anywhere from 8-12 weeks. So far, Lawrence is about seven weeks into the rehab. But it sounds like he’s much closer to the 12-week return than anytime soon.
Frankly, I'm more concerned with him being rushed back to soon and not being 100% ready to rock and roll over which week he returns.

I thought this was a 8 week injury.

What's taking him so long to get back?

The silly cba rules are keeping him from getting back. Its the players and owners fault really. Blame them.

What? The dude isn't even running yet, let alone making cuts. Blame his foot.

The FB love runs deep with Garrett, it seems.

The Cowboys re-signed fullback Nikita Whitlock to the practice squad on Tuesday. He was cut on Sept. 9 from the practice squad, eight days after he joined the team.

To make room for Whitlock, the Cowboys cut cornerback Jamea Thomas.

I'm surprised they cut Thomas for the FB.
