When it comes to expectations, I’m just not there yet in regards to Dez Bryant playing. Over this long weekend, it was productive, but I still didn’t get any medical degrees so I obviously don’t know as much as the trainers and doctors for this team.

But showing up on a side field Thursday is different from returning to practice, and therefore, I have a hard time thinking he plays Sunday. But I hope I’m wrong because he’s fun to watch and this team certainly needs him in the lineup.

However, I think the Cowboys will be better regardless if No. 88 is on the field.

I don’t always agree with the notion of making change for change sake. But I don’t think what the Cowboys did last week was just because. And let’s not forget, the Cowboys made trades for this very reason.

If Brandon Weeden doesn’t play well in this stretch, let’s make sure we’ve got a veteran like Matt Cassel to put in there.

If, we don’t get what we expect from Joseph Randle and/or Darren McFadden, let’s see what a guy like Christine Michael could add.

Having Randy Gregory back is really going to make this defense tough to handle. The secondary alone will be vastly improved with Gregory lining up at DE. We saw first hand what Hardy and McClain bring, add in #94, and you have a recipe for disaster. I mean that in a good way!

I'm not sure how much of an improvement Cassell will be, but it can't be as bad as Weeden. If we get anything close as to what the Pats or Chiefs in his first year got, we're going to win some games. Though this defense will have to shoulder the load until Romo gets back.

Everytime I see Eatman's photo it makes me recoil as if I saw saw someone get run over by a train.

Gregory and Hardy on the field together will be awesome.

Hardy just has a knack for getting to the QB. McClain commands the middle with his strength and speed. Gregory's speed and natural ability, along with what he's learned thus far really puts a kink into opposing offense's gameplan. All of this bodes extremely well for Marinelli's entire defense.

Another important change is the addition of Brice Butler. Cassel has to have someone he can throw to if he's going to stretch the field. TWill has had some problems catching the ball but more importantly he is not winning when defenders are draping him. Street, Beasley and Whitehead are having similar issues on a smaller scale. Defenses will continue to physically beat down on Cowboys' receivers until Cowboys can make them pay.

The nickle DL will likely be:

Gregory - T Crawford - Hardy - Lawrence

That is a group that I have been waiting to see ever since Dallas signed Hardy and drafted Gregory. I am fired up about getting to see them all play together.

If everything goes as planned, that should be the best pass rush Dallas has had since... what... maybe since Haley, Lett, Tolbert, and Mayrland were lining up? I mean, DeMarcus Ware was very good and Raltiff was a good pass rushing DT, but those front 7 players weren't as good as the group Dallas has now, IMO.

There are just so many combinations that Marinelli can use, in large part, because of just how versatile Hardy is. He can play any one of the 4 DL spots and create big problems for the OL.

I have a hunch that Gregory is going to make a difference pretty much right away. I know a lot of people say not to expect a lot out of rookie pass rushers... but everything he has shown from Mini-camps and OTA's all the way until he went out of the Giants game, says that the guy is going to be a big problem for offenses when they have to throw.

Having Hardy and Greogory on that line will really open things up for Lawrence and Crawford.

And don't forget about Irving either. That guy has a knack for rushing from inside at DT that most very tall players don't have. He could come in some for any of the DL spots. He could play SDE in place of Lawrence or he could play DT in place of Crawford if they need a break. His height is going to give QB's some issues when throwing too.

So fired up about the DL that I can't wait to see them against NYG.

If the defense does not shoulder the load, the season will be over before Romo returns.

The offense needs to produce something consistently but this defense has take over with Gregory returning.

Yeah, but we sure better learn how to cover those stacked receivers esp when they run pick plays.

At the least we should be able to force the better QBs and OC to switch their game to quick passes. And that shuts down a good part of their offense.

I hope so. I just hope the safety's can actually start making tackles.

Will not matter in the grand scheme of things if the offense cannot move the ball. We need turnovers badly.
