He was on the field VS skins

Kavon Frazier was active with Barry Church out due to injury.

Frazier had to come in and play in the second half when J.J. Wilcox got injured. Justin Durant also left with an injury, he was replaced in the Nickel by SLB Damien Wilson.

I don't like that idea one bit. I'm assuming the reason we aren't getting hit over the top 3-4 times a game is we have a decent centerfielder this year. The Church/Wilcox combo is just begging for problems.

You have a point but I fear too much inexperience on the corner. Those guys are on an island too often.

I think they should move Jones to CB and play Church/Wilcox at S.
Nah, in the NFL, Jones is a safety. He left a lot to be desired at corner last year. I wonder if h wasn't nicked up in the game the other day if he does a better job covering Reed.

No. Wilcox and Church are coverage liabilities. But both can excel at a more in the box safety type.

You can never have too many secondary players especially those who have versatility. Unfortunately Wilcox and Chruch do not have that versatility.

Yes! I'm more worried about the CBs than I am the safeties as it should be. Wilcox when well has played better as had Church this year. I agree they are not cover safeties but I'd rather see them cover most TEs and have the corners cover the wideouts where you need better coverage ability. Jones can play CB. It's not optimal as you have noted because it takes a cover safety and moves him to corner. It is the lesser of evils to have a corner who can cover and a less capable safety try to cover.....in general. They might have to move people around in the nickel or dime to cover some TEs like Reed or say Gronk if we play them later on.

Yes he was nicked up and I suspect he would have played better. He'd play better if all the rest were doing their job, too.

Well thankfully this week we don't really play an offense that should give us too much trouble. But two weeks from now it'd be nice if Mo was back.

Doubt Mo is back this year. Would be nice, just doesn't seem likely.

If that was the case he'd have surgery. There is hope.
I hoped I was gonna win that powerball drawing last night too!

OK, Mo is slightly more likely to come back than that, but I'd be very surprised if he's back for more than a quarter if at all.

I'm going to keep preaching from my soap box for an all defensive draft next year.

I'd like that...if we could acquire one or more extra picks. I still think this team needs a speedy receiver to take the top off of the defense and just let us pound the rock, throw deep, throw the slot passes and keep that young defense off of the field more until they are ready to be a top notch squad. Could you imagine an offense that can score and a defense that can stop you from scoring? I don't want to get too far ahead, but it would be better than the 90s teams ....... on paper.....

That's true. 2014 seems so long ago I forgot how long the season is when the playoffs are involved.

La'el Collins, Kellen Moore, Geoff Swaim and Charles Tapper are the players on Injured Reserve.

We don't need Moore and Swaim just had surgery . The health of Collins and Tapper is unknown at this point. Collins is two months removed from having toe surgery and the estimated recovery time was 2-3 months.

Tapper is a mystery.
