IRVING, Texas – No one has to be reminded of Tony Romo’s performance on a short week a season ago on Thanksgiving.

After taking Wednesdays off each week to get his back and body prepared for Sundays, Romo certainly wasn’t himself last year against the Eagles, losing to the division rivals 33-10 in a game in which he finished with a 53.7 passer rating, thanks to two interceptions.

So while this once again is a short week for the Cowboys quarterback, Romo said his preparation won’t be the same this time around.

“I think last year was experimental in a lot of ways at different times,” said Romo, who was managing his rehab from back surgery each week. “We had to figure that out. We hadn’t had a short week throughout the rest of the year. In some ways, just some of the decisions I made were not conducive to me being ready in that short a period of time. It happened. You learn. You move on. I think I’ll be better this year because of it.”

In fact, being out for the last seven games has allowed him to at least get a head start on Carolina, along with Miami.

The fact that Romo recognizes the opposition's defenses both before the game (on film) and during the game via his audibles is a huge advantage. Weeden and Cassel more than likely had all they can do just to vocalize the calls provided them by the OC.

Fortunately, we saw the results of Romo's expertise in that area last Sunday. Hopefully, we'll see those positive results again vs. Carolina. As always, whether or not the team manages to execute both the playcalls and Tony's audibles as required be remains to be seen.

I think the Defense needs to get a head start on Carolina.

Let Lee shadow Cam.

Let Byron shadow the TE.

Carolina beats you with Cam and their short passing game. Playing man shouldn't be a problem with their WRs.

Romo can read any defense and check out of it. No doubt he knows what matchups and alignments to take advantage of.

think about how great this offense could be if the rest of them could read the defense and no what alignments to take advantage of. I think this is what differentiates the great offenses from the rest..all of the skill positions are on the same page and not just the QB.

I like Lee shadowing Cam.

I take that match up if Lee is healthy.

Romo is our OC now, and thank God!. I mean, I know we have Linehan, but Romo doesn't give a rats butt what play he calls. If he doesn't like it, see ya..The only reason he cares what JC says is because they are friends . But you know when it comes down to it, Tony is gonna do what Tony wants to do. And the best part is, the rest of the team knows also.

According to carolinahuddle.com, he's not even a Top-5 QB the Panthers will face/have faced this season.

No joke.

Romo is like a coach out there, he can see the one on one matchups, plus he can look the defense off, like he did with the Dez TD vs the phins

Unfortunately, Byron is going to be starting at CB. Big hole in my opinion.

I tried to sign into their site so I could enlighten them, but they're not even capable of properly sending a confirmation email to verify my account. Pathetic.
