For all the griping about the Bernadeau contract, the guy has been a positive.

It's strange.

I'm so used to worrying about the Oline this early in the season that I don't know how to feel about all the praise these guys are getting.

The only thing I worry about with the offense is staying healthy.

Bernie will break your heart every season. He will play fine for several games then stink it up.

And even with an uneven game here or there, Bernadeau was a good guard last year... Better than average. And just about every player has a below average game during the season (at least one and usually more).

I feel better about them when I realize they are able to stop Hayden, selvie and bass every day in practice

more than any other position, the OL work as a unit. often the weak link makes everybody else look bad. with Fredrick, smith, around him, it seems he is able to handle his own. he is not a probowler, or earth mover, or difference maker but he holds his own and that's all you need.

Yes, the team was so confident in his ability that they paid a 40 year old to come in after being out of the league two years.

Keep in mind that I'm sure the Leary situation (and his potential knee problem) was a factor as was the knee problem experienced by Nate Livings.

I don't think the Water's signing was a "Bernadeau-thing" only.

Bernadeau was injured coming out of training camp last season. He still played game 1, but he was limited by the injury. I don't remember, but I think it was an ankle issue.

When fully healthy, Bernadeau has been good.
