ARLINGTON, Texas – Here are my first impressions of Saturdays win against the Oakland Raiders from my vantage point in the broadcast booth at AT&T Stadium.

Read

I continue to like what I have seen from Dak Prescott throwing the ball from the pocket. His willingness to stand in there and make a throw is encouraging. The one that he made to Ezekiel Elliott comes to mind. It might not have been Prescott's best pass, but it showed me something about his development. On the play, Elliott missed the blitz pickup and with a rusher in his face, Prescott could have eaten the ball and taken the sack. Instead, Prescott had the presence of mind to flip the ball to Elliott in the flat. The play resulted in no gain, but the poise and field awareness that he showed gave the play a chance as long as Elliott had the ball.

I didn't see Duke Thomas get injured. Anyone know what happened with him?

I need to check this on tape, but it appeared that the sack of Dak Prescott was an issue between Chaz Green and Travis Frederick. I have a feeling that Frederick passed Treyvon Hester to Green with the confidence that he would be able to secure the block. When Hester broke through the middle of the line, both Green and Frederick were giving chase, but it was too late. I just wonder how much the left guard spot is going to affect this team opening day against the New York Giants.

I think LG is a legitimate concern.

I think that since Cooper has shown the most consistency there at LG he gets the nod for sure now. Collins- people KEEP FORGETTING that he has only been in pads practicing and playing as a OT in the NFL less THAN ONE MONTH. And by the way several of those penalties were if not ticky tack frankly wrong.

Cooper will be the starting LG, seems he has done much better than Green, especially in the running game, though he still has his issues, but seems to be better than Green.

Many questioned the drafting of Green at the time in the 3rd round. when we needed a defensive player so much more.
I can see why they did what they did as they were looking for a RT to replace Free. Hard to know about injury prone players.

Some claimed there was not a defensive player with better value at that time. But in hindsight, there had to be a better player.
He will make the team, because there is not anyone better to take his spot. But better have some OL on speed dial.

With greens talent he would have gone much higher but he was available in the 3rd because even in college he was injured. He needed hip surgery his rookie year before camp. He does look to skills but he also seems "soft"

I'm not saying I'm a fan of the Chaz pick, but if you're going to make a statement that there "Had to be a better pick", you should give an example.

Here's the draft, good luck.
