Boatright needs to step up. He was good in college, albeit playing at a microscopic one.

Let's see what he can do against the Ravens.

Some very encouraging things in there

Gotta be excited about Boatwright....Broaddus has said he has something and now Sullivan talking about it. We need a guy lke this to step up.

Also exciting to hear about Spencer....it would be such a shot in the arm if he can go within the first couple of games.

I am bewildered by the Mack talk....we have all seen the clip now and it's over 4 seconds before he shakes Smith and would have been at least 5 seconds to the QB....this is exceptional? Smith looks good.

Through all of this....nothing on LB's....a bit discouraging. Is McClain supposed to play against the Ravens?

Sully was born deaf. He doesn't have a lisp. I don't believe that should hold anybody back from being on radio. If anything, he should be admired for doing so.

Yes radio would be great if everyone sounded just like him. He should be admired for all of his success. The person who chooses to put him on the air should be fired.

I think so, too. He puts himself out there. The same on the Star Magazine show, where he lets them rib him about his big bald head.

Now, that doesn't mean that I won't crack on him now and again, but I think it's cool that he's been able to do what he wants professionally with the deck stacked against him.

I can't decide whether to be excited about him, or disturbed that a SEA cast-off can come in and make a noticeable impact. Hate to be so bummed about this DL, but, man. Having Lawrence and Melton and McClain and Spencer all on the sidelines while reading stories about our backups getting trucked every day just really bums me out.

My point was only that this story is his comfort zone in my opinion. It is an easy read and not some incredible homer pretending to be a credible sports reporter making ridiculous statements about how great every player and coach is regarding a team that is 8-8 every year. I don't need every reporter to be a great insider, I like to read a piece like this from time to time and I think he does it well. As far as him on the radio, I have tried to listen and have never made it through an entire show because I find myself rooting for him to spit a word out. Just not an enjoyable listen for me. It might be easier to take if he wasn't actually the better of the 2 hosts! Ellis sounds like he is fighting the effects of a tranquilizer dart!

Boatright will have to beat out Crawford, Mincey, or Selvie to fit on the roster if Lawrence and Spenser are on it.

I honestly think he has a legitimate chance at making the Pro Bowl.

Breaking into the Pro Bowl as a rookie, especially at guard is a real tall order.

He could be good enough, but winning the popularity contest that exists makes it highly unlikely.

Long in Chicago had no issues doing it. And don't say the name cause I believe the guard in Detroit did it as well. Probowl guard competition is honestly what it used to be.

That is complete garbage about Mack beating Smith. If it takes you 4-5 seconds that is not beating the OL in any way that matters.

Yes, but Long was an alternate who only made it because of injury, Warford probably had an even better year and I don't believe he actually made it.

Very very tough for players to get legitimate Pro Bowl berths as rookies, no matter how good they are.

Mack still needed about five seconds to shake free. And it was a one-on-one drill.

Yeah everyone keeps saying that he beat Tyron, but if you watch the video, he tries to go outside, can't, then goes back in, still doesn't, then makes another move and Tyron slips and he "beats" him. Not quite 5 seconds but definitely 3-4. Most passes are gone by then
