Surging Defensive Line Poised To Take On Banged Up Washington Front
http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2...sive-line-poised-take-banged-washington-front

FRISCO, Texas - When Tyrone Crawford was asked this week about the potential of the Cowboys’ defense, he naturally pointed towards the impact of he and his fellow pass rushers.

“The sky’s the limit,” Crawford said. “If we continue to get pressure from all sides and up the middle it will continue to be great for us. If we can do it this week we should have some success up there.”

If you take a look at the Commanders’ injury report, it seems the Cowboys will have plenty of potential to get pressure from “all sides and up the middle.” Washington’s offensive line has been banged up by injuries as of late. Four of their five starting offensive linemen are dealing with injuries that leave their status up in the air.

The Commanders’ starting guard, Brandon Scherff sprained his MCL last Monday night against the Eagles, but may attempt to play with a brace on his knee. Left tackle Trent Williams and center Spencer Long are both dealing with knee injuries as well. Right tackle Morgan Moses sprained both ankles...

I fear this is one of those games where we are supposed to take advantage of a weakness and fail to do it. We might win anyway because of our offense, but some seem to be counting on our defense, which is never a sure thing.

LOL!

Exactly what I was thinking.

It's the "Mark Wilson" affect– And goes back to the 1980's. The law is "If against the Dallas Cowboys a team substitutes an inferior player for an injured superior player, then said inferior player will have a career day".

Murphy's Law just could be happening for Washington and a 3rd straight loss...as well.

So stinking true....Colt McCoy....

Yep.

1983... Mark Wilson who was drafted in 1980, toils on the bench in 1983 until Jim Plunkett is hurt vs. the Seahawks the week prior to playing Dallas.

Wilson starts vs. Dallas, has a 26 for 49 passing game for 300+ yards and 3 TD's. The Raiders put up 500+ yards of offense and of course Dallas lost. :(

In his career Mark Wilson won 32, lost 28 and had more picks than TD's.

That's the "Mark Wilson" affect.

Normally Id agree with that feeling, but we seem to be getting pressure everywhere this season. Even if one guy slumps a bit I think someone else will break through. That said we could get 4 sacks and still lose. Personally I think we are gonna pound the skins.

Get ready for Chris Thompson to catch 15 passes for 180 yards and catch Marinelli off guard. They will do it more to help the oline. They go to him almost every time in 2nd or 3rd and long.

I agree with this entire post. I think we pressure Cousins regardless of who does or doesn’t line up in front of him and we win without fretting Nugent.

My Cowboy fan buddies and I were pretty confident the Cowboys would win, with Plunkett getting KOed the week before. Little did we know...

Might have even been a Monday night game, Raiders... Cowboys, would have made sense.

Wilson and the Raider offense just shredded the Cowboy defense... It was ugly.

And then Wilson, went to back to being....Wilson.

I hope so. Lawrence has been pretty steady this season so it would be a surprise for him to get no pressure. I think the only way the Skins could get that to happen would be to double him on every pass play, which is probably what I'd do until the others show they can consistently win one-on-one.

Hes going to be a factor. Fortunately the skins dont use his nearly enough so we should also see Kelley and Perine running into the line of scrimmage over and over.

This will be one of those games where some scrub line handles this dline... It’s setup for it... It never fails

You know how these things go. It's like such a lock that they should have a field day against their banged up front that they won't and we're all left to wonder why.

Washington's Dline looked pretty stout against Philly. They wore down late, but pressured Wentz and stopped the run. I'd worry more about that.

At least this season there will be no last few seconds come from behind victory led by Rodgers...like the previous two games.
