FRISCO, Texas – Wide receiver Terrance Williams is expected to be limited at most in Wednesday’s practice due to a sprained ankle, head coach Jason Garrett said.

The Cowboys will likely monitor Williams’ status throughout the week leading into Sunday’s matchup at Denver. Williams has not missed a game in his five-year career. He rolled his ankle on the first play of last Sunday’s season opener against the Giants, but returned to catch six passes for 68 yards in a 19-3 win.

Elsewhere on the roster, Garrett said cornerback Orlando Scandrick’s hand surgery Monday went well, and he has not been ruled out of Sunday’s game.

Rookie Chidobe Awuzie, who helped replace Scandrick against the Giants, also appeared to roll his ankle late in the game. Garrett said he’s hopeful Awuzie can continue to practice more after the early portion Wednesday.

Fellow rookie Jourdan Lewis (hamstring) is expected to do a little bit more in practice Wednesday after taking part on a limited basis last week, Garrett said.

Not sure about Scandrick playing but the other two will likely. Sounds as if Williams is going to at risk to be a tad hobbled at worst. He should at least start off well. I won't be surprised to see OScan play although I'd lay odds against it.

Since I believe he's our best CB, I'd love to see Scandrick out there.

I hope he plays as well. Not sure about that. I'd like to see that fracture unite a bit before exposing him to risk. At tem days he's going to be 90% united if callous formation occurs normally for someone his age. That's no guarantee though. That's looking at a lot of patients over time and averaging them out. I-2 standard deviations the wrong way or it just doesn't heal well and you're risking a worst fracture and more time out.

I think scandrick playing might depend on awuzie and Lewis playing. Or maybe it's the other way around. Idk. I just want them out there

I would think that he would have a major club on that hand if he does play. I'm not sure how much protection that actually offers, though.

Prolly is best...now

10 games from now he might be 3rd best.

Maybe. If he's as good as he was before he got hurt, then the others have a lot to prove. However, I'd love it if they are even better than that.

same game plan this week....control the crap out of the clock (but RUN THE DAMN BALL INSIDE THE 5), pressure the QB on defense ....that's a soup with some tasty ingredients
