FRISCO, Texas – The OTA practices have come and gone. Up next for the Cowboys is just a three-day minicamp that is mandatory for all players to participate. And of course, that’s the last on-field function for the team until it departs for training camp in late July.

Now, that’s where we’ll get to see even more from this team and maybe start to figure out some of these position battles.

But what we’ve seen so far is still plenty to formulate an opinion. Football analyst Bryan Broaddus has seen every player on this roster throughout the summer and a few guys have certainly caught his eye in terms of making a push to either start, or just to make the team.

Let’s look at Bryan’s Top 10 surprises so far this offseason:

10. Austin Larkin

This front office has a history of finding undrafted free agents. After OTA practices so far, Austin Larkin has my vote to be another good find. It’s been fun to see him and Dorance Armstrong get opportunities with the first defense. Larkin is a slippery player who is relentless with his effort and pursuit no matter who is matched up against.

I loathe Click to Continue so much I simply move along and never participate. Which is too bad because I love top 10-style lists.

But Click to Continue is such an obvious sell out for clicks that I can’t bring myself to do it. Sites can and should do better than that.

he could have added the whole team. this is getting as bad as the experts who wanted to pick every team to win the SB, than had to have sleeper teams, and other titled teams. just pick everyone and be done with it.

we have gotten so bad as an organization and sports writer bad we have to talk about every little thing to drum up interest.

a first round pick being a surprise? no, a first round pick should never be a surprise.

It is NO surprise that it is only June 10th and there is already a broaddus Top 10 list for something....even though there are no surprises until pads come on...

I'm pulling for Ward. He is another physical freak that needed his techniques to be developed and I think Rod will help him get there. Unlike many here I still like Rod and believe that he has been asked to make chicken salad out of chicken **** for most of his time in Dallas.

He gets crapped on for no reason. He’s got traits he looks for in DLs. When he finds them, the guys can usually play. People get mad because he doesn’t like the wide bodybuilding two gapping 1-tech, but that’s not his defense.

Me too. The move inside is a good one. If he’s really this “disruptive force” (DC.com’s words, not mine) then playing next to Tank is going to open up a lot of opportunity.

Still another 6 weeks to training camp, I can’t bear it!!

Of his job was to put everyone on this list who we need to have solid OTAs? He managed to do it. I haven't seen them but it's encouraging to hear those guys are doing well.

You can Continue without Clicking but you won't get to see much. You'll be stuck on #9.
