Cowboys Must Not Get Too High On Themselves
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are an NFL football team and they can win this game. The Cowboys must not come into this game with the mindset that they can play sloppy undisciplined football and still win. Beating the Colts last week was great, but this league is a what have you done for me today league. The penalties are still a very big problem for this team. The Bucs do not have a high powered offense, but if you give them opportunities with silly penalties over and over they will put points on the board. Their defense is coming into this game very banged up, but if the Cowboys offense shoots themselves in the foot the Bucs defense won't have to do much to slow them down. Coach Parcells should have preached to them this week that this is a major trap game. If the Cowboys come out and play an inspired clean football then they should easily win by a couple of touchdowns. Stay focused Cowboys!
Tony Romo Should Have A Very Easy Day At The Office
This Tampa Bay defense only has 14 sacks this season. They just don't have pressure players any longer and they are missing their best pass rusher in Simeon Rice who was placed on Injured Reserve. The Cowboys offensive line has played pretty darn good over these last four games that Romo has started so I would expect the same from them tomorrow. The Bucs only have 5 INT's this season so they don't have many guys making plays at the second and third level either. That spells trouble for Ronde Barber and his guys because we know the Cowboys are loaded with potent weapons. Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn should have a field day getting open on the underneath routes against the cover two. Then I would expect a few balls to be thrown downfield on some play action if the running game is moving the chains. I don't see the Bucs defense doing a very good job in stopping Tony Romo from having another great game as he continues to make us all forget about Drew Bledsoe. Go get 'em Romo!
Will That Aggressive Defense Be On Tap Once Again?
I sure hope so. I think with a rookie quarterback on the other side of the ball the Cowboys defense will be coming after him from every angle possible. Bruce Gradkowski is not going to beat the blitz with many big throws against Roy Williams and this defense. Coach Gruden has been dumbing down the offense recently just to try and allow his team to put up enough points to stay in the games. The only real threat the Bucs have to get open downfield is Joey Galloway, but Terence Newman can shut him down rather easily. Cadillac Williams is not having half the year he had in 2005 because the Bucs young offensive line is not very good yet. Look for Demarcus Ware and the front seven of the Cowboys to own this game from the very beginning.
I Think It's Time For A Fake Field Goal
A few weeks ago I heard about some pre-game stuff going on where Mike Vanderjagt was throwing passing routes to Terrell Owens. Maybe that was a sign of something in the works. Probably not going to be a pass to Owens because if he's out there on the Field Goal team I would know something is up, but Jason Witten is also in on that unit and we know he can catch it with the best of them. Tony Romo is also the holder so maybe he takes the snap and finds Witten open for a nice crowd pleasing touchdown somewhere in this game. Just a hunch, but if I am right you guys better remember you heard it here first.
The NFC East Crown Is Sitting Right There For Us To Take
Don't you just love when the Eagles, Giants and Redkins all lose on the same weekend. The Eagles are done without Donovan McNabb. He is the guy that makes that offense work and without him they may not win another game this season. The Commanders have been done for a while now. The Giants lost another game behind a terrible performance by Eli Manning. His pedigree is not doing much for him right now and with all the injuries the Giants have they are not a good football team right now. Don't want to get to far ahead of the game, but if the Cowboys can keep the pressure on the Giants by beating the Bucs the Crown moves one step closer to once again resting in Dallas.
Here's My Prediction For The Game
Score will be 34-14 and the Cowboys will spend the second half thinking about how good that Turkey will taste after being 7-4. I think we see a huge game from Tony Romo and Terrell Owens. The Bucs defense is just not equipped to stop these two guys, especially with all the injuries they have to defensive starters. Poor Bruce Gradkowski is going to be beaten and knocked around all game by Demarcus Ware who is quickly becoming the best outside linebacker in the NFC. Coach Parcells will be able to take that deep breath after this win.
