Granted Brown lasting to 27 is not likely but here is my mock

Malcom Brown DT

Tevin Coleman RB

Josh Shaw CB

Gerod Holliman FS

Very solid.

Shaw could turn out to be the steal of the draft in the 3rd.

Holliman is a very interesting project. He is a terrible tackler but super ball-hawk. It seems that it might be easier to teach somebody to tackle than to teach somebody to become a ball-hawk.

If Brown is available he would be a good pick. He seems like the perfect Marinelli 1tech in that he is more of a pass rusher than run stuffer. He's bigger than Marinelli has generally had in the past but I don't think that is an issue for this particular player.

I'm not as big of a fan of Coleman as most people, but he is a safe pick.

Reason I like Coleman is I feel he is the most complete RB in terms of rushing, receiving and blocking. For me that is important to be a 3 down back. He is not what many would want in terms of a break away runner but I feel he has good burst to get into the 2nd level and he finishes runs strong. Many of the same traits that Murray gave Dallas

Not bad at all....although I will say that I think I prefer Shaw at FS over CB so the Holliman pick right after wouldn't be my favorite pick ever. Change that pick to a CB or LB and I'd like it more.

Yes, complete is a good description. On the flip side, he reminds me of a slower version of McFadden. They have similar strengths and weaknesses.

I don't think Coleman breaks tackles as well as Murray or finds the "dirty yards" to use a popular term. He tends to hurl himself into the line when there is no obvious opening more than trying to stay balanced.

He would be a solid pick at #60, just not my favorite option.

I like the fact he has 4.4 speed and feel he can play man or zone coverage and not afraid to put a big hit on a WR

Cowboys already have 1 DT that I am excited about in Whaley

Yes, I've posted that Whaley's game footage is better than many of the DTs in this draft. I think if he was healthy and in this draft he would be a 3rd or possibly 2nd round pick.

I see him as a 3tech.

Pretty much agree with your assessment and as I said what attracts me to him is being a complete back.

I enjoyed watching him at Texas, he is quick off the ball and penetrate quickly into the back field. He also does not give up on plays and will track guys down from the backside, something Marinelli expects from his guys

chris whaley a 1 tech? i thought he was about 265lb?

He played at as much as 295 according to some reports. He lost weight after the injury for whatever reasons.

Both Whaley and Henry Melton were 6-3, 269 pounds at draft time. Both also started out as RBs.

I like Shaw too....it it wasn't for his "incident" I don't think we'd even be discussing him as a possible 3rd round pick. He has very similar measurables to Rowe who is on a crazy rise possibly all the way to the 1st right now. Maybe he can stick at CB in our scheme playing more zone, but I just think his eventual home may be best at FS. Either way he would be a great pick though.
