DE/OLB Brian Robison Texas

during the combine they interviewed him and asked him if he cared whether he played DE or OLB.......Robison's response was (I'll play wherever they want me to play)

that is what I am talking about....High motor, hard worker, great character, unselfish........this is why he is one of my favorites of all-time....

he sure had an impressive combine performance.....

I really like this guy. I havent felt this confident about a UT DE since Tony Brackens came out. Robison has a non stop motor. He was all over the ball, play in and play out. He consistently makes plays along the line of scrimmage and behind it.

I would definitely be happy if the Cowboys drafted him to be a backup to either Ware or Ellis...

I just hope that the Skins or Eagles dont draft him.....I want to be able to root for him as a pro.

HOOK EM HORNS

It's not pimping if it's true. I think Robison might just end up being a guy who can play in the NFL.

UT had very few sacks or QB pressure this past season. It was a reason why their pass defense was pretty bad. That and Michael and Marcus Griffin aren't good in coverage. Crowder and Robison are decent pass rushers, but not spectacular. They would be nice players to have later in the draft, but they aren't worth reaching for too early.

Here's another blurb on Robison's numbers:

Brian Robison, the Texas defensive end, benched a respectable 27 reps at 225 pounds on Sunday, and then used Monday to impress those in attendance. He posted the quickest Three-Cone Drill time among defensive linemen at 6.89, which was the only time under seven second, leaped the best broad jump in his group at 10’1”, and posted the third fastest 40-yard dash time among linemen crossing the line in 4.67. His shuttle time was also one of the fastest on the day. Overall, he performed drills smoothly, and shined throughout the day. Robison definitely bumped up several draft boards.

His production makes him look more like a 2nd day pick. His combine may push him into the 4th, I guess somebody could reach for him in the late third.

Robison & Crowder both played straight DEs in the 'Horns 4-3 defense. They're "perfect" hybrid players in a 3-4. Sack totals and overall production will be better in the pros. Reminds me of Kevin Greene & Joey Porter when they first started in the NFL. Already have the work ethic and non-stop motors; placed in a scheme to take advantage of their strengths, watch out.....
