Boys from 1-6 what is your rank in priority

I'd say DE CB SS ( Church is a FA this year) OLB WR DT1 ( I'd love to get a Hankins from the Giants or L Joseph from Vikings type of DT 1 tech

DE - #1
CB - #2
SS - #3
LB depth - #4 (big body)
OT - #6 - depth
OG - #7 - depth
CB - #7 - depth
And i would spend some money in FA, another DE and DT.

DE, LB, DT, CB, WR, SS, TE. Fix the front 7, then worry about DB and offensive depth later. We have the best oline, zeke, 2 starting quality QBs, And a triple headed monster of receiving weapons in Dez, Beas, and Witten. No need for WR to be so high on a list.

I can't go with a LB, not until the Smith situation sorts itself out.

It's like this, most of the time there are only 2 LBers on the field. If Smith comes back then you have he and Lee and at the moment that's fine.

The DT position is shaping up nicely. I can't see another DT early.

Now the secondary is going to be losing a lot of guys in the offseason.

I think DE and CB are going to be the two biggest needs.

While I see what you're saying, Lee will be 31 YO when he steps on the field next year. With his injury history, we'll be playing with house money at that point. Even if Lee and Smith stay healthy (which feels like a lot to ask), we could use an eventual replacement for Lee.

I'll go:

1. DE
2. DT (1T and 3T)
3. LB
4. CB
5. TE
6. WR

I do expect Claiborne to return; otherwise, CB is #2. Church and Wilcox have been solid this year and can be re-signed for cheap.

Oh LB will be a need... Just not more a need than CB or DE.

I think you have to go DE early and maybe often. Have you looked at the free agent DE class? It's not exactly eye popping. You aren't going to find a lot of pass rush help in FA this year.

1. DE - Can't count on Gregory unfortunately, Mayowa is unimpressive, Jack Crawford is a free agent. Impact position; must have.
2. SS - Great draft to need one because there are some impact safeties in this draft. Is my Barry Church nightmare almost over?
3. CB - Depends on Claiborne and Carr's contract situations. This could be a higher need come March.
4. WR - Again, depends on T. Williams and Brice Butler who are both free agents.
5. OLB - If we get news that Jaylon Smith will never recover this escalates quickly. As it is, I'd like a new MLB.
6. DT1 - T. Crawford, Cedric Thornton, David Irving will all be back. Terrell McClain might earn an extension as well. If a great, true 3Tech is available, it would be smart to consider him.

I need to see more of Lawrence to determine whether we need a RDE or a LDE, but pass rush is critical above all else. If he ends up filling the RDE role, I would not have LDE as a highest priority. I'd put T Crawford at LDE and find interior pass rush. If Lawrence stays at LDE, I'm willing to go full Julio Jones and trade up from the 20s if Myles Garrett falls to 4 or so like Atlanta a few years ago.

1. DE
2. CB (or FS with B Jones moving to CB)
3. OLB (Really MLB, because I don't believe JS will ultimately be a MLB)
4. WR (SPEEEEEED)
5. DT1 (I think we're fine at DT1 but we're still looking for the explosive DT3 rush man)
6. SS (I think Church resigns. Strong Safeties are not in high demand, they don't have a huge impact on the game, and they're not expensive to resign.)

I agree with most of that list, but I think you can safely take DT off it.

We need an influx of talent at the LB spot. It's concerning to me that our 2015 4th rounder Damien Wilson hadn't made any headway in terms of earning even rotational snaps on defense.

A healthy Jaylon Smith would obviously change the dynamics, but you simply can't hold your breath and assume he regains function of his foot.

I'm a Anthony Hitchens supporter but he simply hasn't solidified himself as a long term starter IMO, though he provides quality depth.

Andrew Gachkar is a special teams contributor and is virtually invisible playing defense.

Durant is a stop gap starter.

Mark Nzeocha is intriguing but simply and unknown commodity at this point.

I like Kyle Wilbur more than most as he's a solid spot starter and versatile glue guy that every team needs.
