DE Ryan Davis please

After signing him to a 2nd round tender ($2.5M), JAX just cut him. He's 6'2" 270, a little short, but has the profile of a Marinelli DE (was playing some OLB for JAX too). He was drafted in 2012, and has 10 sacks in last 2 years. More than we can say for many of our unproven DE's. Also, according to Pro Football Focus: "Davis only played 250 snaps last season, but he made the most of them. He finished with 3.5 sacks while earning PFF's 19th-highest pass rushing grade among 4-3 defensive ends. Davis turned 27 last month." This is exactly the kind of young DE (like Irving) that we should snatch up sitting at #3 on waivers.

Like him too, but Davis has been in the league 4 years and can step right in. Holmes is smaller (250lbs) and a rookie. More of a developmental guy. But can't argue with his production in FCS and this preseason. Would be happy with either.

He's been very disappointing, even as a spell guy. Wouldn't want him in rotation.
