Just a fun question....

If you could be GUARANTEED a Super Bowl win next season, but then you also had to agree to the exact same 16 years that followed our last Super Bowl win (since 1995). So, you get the joy of another Super Bowl win in Cowboys history, but you also will get the equivalent of Quincy, Gailey, Campo, Wade... some up years, but mostly down years and frustration. And there would be no hope for the 16 years following.

OR, you were given NO guarantees, and you would have whatever the next 17 years would produce on their own.

Which would you choose? REMEMBER, the Super Bowl is GUARANTEED.

No deal. It would make the following 16 seasons pointless to watch given that we would know the outcome. Now if you want to make it more interesting, perhaps a deal where we a guaranteed a SB win within the next 16 years but the other years would be futile. That way we would not know when the SB win is coming...

No guarantees. The excitement resides in the hope that your team has a chance to compete for the Super Bowl each year.

Besides, we're Cowboys fans. We've become accustomed to Super Bowls.

Now, if you're a Lions or Browns or Chiefs or Jets or Eagles fans, maybe you take that deal.

Ah, but that isn't how he deals. :) It is INSTANT gratification. You can have what you want right now! But then you will have to live with what follows.

In some cases you win 3 in 4 years, feel that it was YOU that accomplished it, and that any of 500 coaches could have been at the helm, and then we'll let you chase the wind for the next 16 years while you humiliate yourself. ;)

Ok, couldn't resist the last part. Sorry. Back to the question. Deal or no deal?

Yea, I'm with you. But you gotta admit that 16 years is a LONG time. And really, since 1995 we haven't even sniffed a Super Bowl. We haven't been close. The closest we got was when we had home field throughout, and then we lost out of the chute to the Giants.

A deal with the devil is the only way we can win a Superbowl with Jerry Jones pulling the strings, so you'd have to consider this.

YES I would do it! It's not ideal, but there is no guarantee we EVER win one again. Some teams have never even been to one, let alone won one. I survived these 16 years (barely), so I know I could do it again if I had to. I really want this current version of the Cowboys to win one and the window is closing :( .
I miss that feeling of winning it all so badly. The Yankees winning World Series' is nice, but there is absolutely no comparison to the Cowboys winning a SB.

Too late. Jerruh already made the deal back in Jan of 94.

NO DEAL!!!! wud rather have better seasons... than just 1 SB we cud have multiple

Deal, I would bet my life savings, house, car, and wife on the Cowboys to win the super bowl; and enjoy watching my favorite team win and my life fortune multiply by 8-12.

I'd take that deal 'n' crawfish, then drill that ol' Devil in the ***

The joy of winning one Super Bowl isn't not even close to being worth having to endure the next 16 years knowing the Cowboys aren't going to even come close to winning another one. The chase and the hope of winning a championship is half the fun of watching. Each season would be like watching the same bad movie over and over again already knowing the crappy ending. What fun would that be? There would be no reason to even watch the Cowboys play the next 16 years if you knew what was going to happen. LOL I would rather enjoy the next 16 years with the possibility they might win several Super Bowl's.

Get Cowher as coach and a new Brett Favre at QB and that could become a reality without even having to make a deal. 1 in that time frame seems about right.. ;)

Well we did that in 95...are we happy having won that Super Bowl?

Long term I take the Super Bowl, I'll be interested in this team no matter how average they are. Six Super Bowls is something I would hang my hat on always.

I'd take my chances without dealing with the "debil". One who deals with the Devil is the one who is screwed.

Why don't we do the opposite, just get down on our knees and pray to the Lord for another Superbowl win and wait and see if He says yes.
