Contract is up with Uverse at the end of the month and the bill is going to shoot up more than what I believe it is worth. Anyone have experience playing hardball with Cable Providers to get the better deal? Choice is limited in my area from ATT or either Cox, ive already experienced Dish Network and it isn't an option at this point. What I don't understand is they give good promos to newbies but want to play hard with veteran customers.
Any advice?

well, i think we all agree on the new price and expect a break when the price does go up. best bet is to contact them and see if they will work with you. i left dish to bundle with uverse and after i left dish, they suddenly offered to bring my rates down to where i needed them to be, but i already bailed.

Search Amazon fire TV on ebay. They are all "jailbroken" with ways to watch anything you want for free. Lot's of videos on YouTube about how to do it as well.

I tell ya, if these people put their "skills" into society, we'd already be growing corn on Mars.

Ya Dish did the same thing after I left them to go with Uverse. My first thought was "why didn't you make this kinda effort when it mattered".

IDK, all I really care about is the local channels as well as NFL Network and ESPN. That and a good connection which uverse provides.

Just call and speak with the cancellation department.

I call Dish every year and play hardball with them. I informed that I have been a loyal customer and have paid my bill on time. I tell them I have other offers that are better but would like to stay with them. i have always received a very fair offer. It is mostly $40 credit to my monthly bill. Cable and satellite companies do not want to lose customers.

Got the deal done earlier today and used every trick in the book, from the "im cancelling" line to "what are you going to do to keep my business" bit. We got the...
Uverse 300 TV package
Internet speed 18 mbps dl speed.
Home phone with 200 min limit{hardly used honestly}

For around 135.00 a month for a year. And honestly they don't have to know this but when the installer installed everything a couple years ago he said with the lines he installed the dl speed were going to be faster than advertised{they are} actually around 24 instead of 18. And last year they had a HD promotion where for a few days everyone got HD, well my never switched back. Ive gotten HD all this time and continue to get HD free of charge.:muttley:

Anyhoos I cant wait til a company comes along with a ala carte plan and gives the big 3{Uverse, Cox, Comcast} some serious competition.
