I write screenplays so I can still sell those. Actually I'm doing just dandy because I never joined the WGA and am not bound to any unions but still help unionized writers polish their stuff if they like me, I'm easy to get along with so many do.the kid 05;1770340 said:let them. hes horrible any ways, he'd fit right in.
Aikbach aren't you a comedic writer? If so hows the strike coming along?
That's interesting to get an insider's opinion. It has seemed sort of clear cut to me thus far: the writers really aren't getting a fair share of the digital treasure. The viewers are getting screwed in the process but I'm not sure what else they're expected to do...what do you think?Aikbach;1770387 said:I write screenplays so I can still sell those. Hollywood is flat out gonna shutdown come the summer however as SAG and the Director's Guild will follow suit with their own crippling strikes, yay unions!
Legalized extortion on one side, monopolized big business on the studio's end, together they make life miserable for everyone, especially when you just want to be creative and make a damn movie, sheesh.
Rant over, sorry.

Their grievances are just, however the unions by and large are not and employ very bully like methodology to both their patrons and the studios.fanfromvirginia;1770480 said:That's interesting to get an insider's opinion. We're smack dab in the middle of a true golden age of TV and now this comes along. I'm not sure what I'm going to do without 30Rock, The Office, My Name is Earl, BSG, Always Sunny, etc...Maybe sumpin' productive for a change...
Here's hoping they get to the table and work something out sooner rather than later.Aikbach;1770747 said:Their grievances are just, however the unions by and large are not and employ very bully like methodology to both their patrons and the studios.
The studios just care about the bottom line and will cut corners to get there, put these two forces together and you see strikes and burned bridges and unemployment and no television.
