DeAngelo Hall says Skins will dominate NFC East

Near the conclusion of Saturday's draft party at FedEx Field, DeAngelo Hall came down to the field to address the fans. Always comfortable with a microphone in his hands, Hall told this story of how a fan had recently asked him about the possibility of a 16-0 season. Hall said he couldn't guarantee 16 wins, but he felt good about 11 or 12.

Now, obviously he was playing to the crowd, but I asked him a few minutes later why he thought 11 or 12 wins were a possibility for a team coming off a 4-12 meltdown.

"It's based on the talent we feel like we've got," he said. "It's based on the improvements I feel like we've made. It's based on the scheme. The scheme alone is gonna give us four or five more wins. The games we lost by two, three points, we'll win those games, easy.

"We'll dominate our division, off of bringing Donovan McNabb in here, a guy who's dominated the division in the past. So that's just an educated guess.

That's an educated guess, and I stand behind. I'll stand behind that. I'll fight and claw to try to make that happen."

That's...I guess optimistic would be a word for it. But Hall is correct that McNabb has had much success against the NFC East. These are, I believe, his records as a starter against the division, including playoff games.

11-7 vs. Giants
12-7 vs. Commanders
11-9 vs. Cowboys

The total is 34-23, which works out to a .596 winning percentage, which
might not be domination, but it's sure better than the reverse.

Please let Dez Bryant burn him like 3 times on opening night, lol.

in 2002 spurrier brought the greatest passing scheme ever to washington, he was the next jimmy johnson.

In 2004 joe gibbs brought back his old staff and his old incredible scheme with a running game that couldnt be stopped headed up by clinton portis.

In 2007 they hired a young west coast quarterback genius who was going to turn jason campbell into the next matt hassleback.

In 2010 Mike Shannahan is going to out scheme and bring back the glory years of 97 and 98. He even has a new west coast quarterback.

Everytime they hire a new coach they implement a new scheme and go get a new quarterback.

in 02 it was spurrier-patrick ramsey.
in 04 it was gibbs-brunnel
In 07 it was Zorn-campbell
in 10 its shannahan-mcnabb.

I fear shannahan as a playcaller, but its about more than that.

So as much as I respect them when we play them and know that no matter what it will be two of the hardest games we play all year because of how hyped they get against us, I still see nothing different about that organization.

They havent won the division in over a decade. They havent even played a home playoff game in over a decade. Just because they rubbed our nose in it we can now say they havent won a playoff game in 5 years and the qb they beat that game was chris simms. ANd that was by the skin of their teeth.

so you know, its the spring, they have new coaches and a different set of veteran players but honestly what has changed. I dont see anything. That revolving door is just spinning like always.

Exactly. This guy hasn't been relevant for years. Don't even know why this is posted.

typical pep rally stuff...I don't hold it against him. I'm sure the Rams and Raiders are also planning to win their divisions this year.

I'm quite sure the Cowboys players talked a lot of that during their string of 5-11 seasons.

nothing to see here...

What do you want him to say "were gonna suck" and "it's gonna be a long year". Lil Danny has a lot of suckers to seperate from their money. He has to tow the part line.

Our players would say "we think we have a lot of talent and if we play up to our potential and do the things we should we should be where we want to be at the end of the season." They wouldn't say "we will dominate our division".

There's a difference IMHO.

That was epic... Check out Witten and how he lifts his leg out of the way. And check out Atl's #59 and how he doesn't care about his teammate flying thru the air like that.
:lmao:
